👋🏻 I figured it’s about time for an updated introduction! I’m Christina, a doula, a photographer and a mom who is constantly reading and researching tips for birth, postpartum and parenting in order to better support my community.

I photograph families fresh in the postpartum haze and also at the other end of the spectrum - adventuring on the water and in the wild. If your quality family time looks like pulling crab pots on the boat and exploring trails in the woods, I’m the photographer for you.

I’m on a mission to create a village in Ketchikan for new parents because solid support during postpartum is crucial for our mental health as parents and humans. I want to create the resources I wish were available when I brought my new baby home here.

Follow along for glimpses into my life as a mom to a toddler, commuting by boat to our off-grid home, building a village and creating art for other families here in Southeast Alaska! ☀️ 🌲 🚤 by @chachphotography

Prior to this year, whenever I thought about my future family photos, I couldn’t decide who I’d want to hire. I have so many talented photographer friends, each with their own unique style. My solution - schedule multiple sessions and hire them all 🤣 But seriously, I am so thankful we’ve been able to do several sessions this year, I am so thankful to have these moments captured in such beautiful ways.

Every year I head to Cannon Beach with my sister, her boys and my mom. With the addition of Theo this year, Trevor and Stephanie’s husband got their first invite to join the beach vacation 😅With the family together, minus my brother, I knew this was the perfect time to schedule photos with @beccajeanphotography and we are THRILLED with how they turned out! Next up, family photos in Ketchikan with Theo’s siblings 🥰 by @chachphotography

HE’S finally here! Theodore Oscar Sande joined our family over the weekend and life just got a whole lot sweeter 🥰 Thankful and overjoyed doesn’t even begin to describe it. After years of supporting birthing and postpartum parents as a doula, it has been an incredibly humbling experience to go through it all myself. Forever and ever grateful to the best doula ever, @m_ramsey35, our midwives and care team at St Anne’s hospital, the best birth photographer @sugarloafbabies, my sister @stephchach, and everyone in our village that has cheered us on throughout it all. This boy is already so loved and we cannot wait for him to meet his village 💕 by @chachphotography

Vote. Vote for your family. For your community. For your friends. For the future. by @chachphotography

I’ve been spending a lot of time lately thinking about what it is I’m drawn to and passionate about, be it in my photography work, doula work or general life. What is it that brings me joy outside of being a mother and what do I want to spend my time doing? As I sit here editing with a huge grin on my face, I can say without a doubt how much I treasure getting to watch toddlers grown into themselves as children and teens, watching family bonds grow and transform over time, and the honor of families allowing me a glimpse into their lives. And how lucky I am that I get to experience these relationships in multiple ways? That is what keeps bringing me back to photography and why I want to prioritize it, alongside my dream of being a mother. by @chachphotography

More dance parties please ✨ by @chachphotography

I love seeing the wide spectrum of kiddo personalities when they visit my studio. This little guy was such a serious observer but by the end of the session he was jumping around with bubbles and wanted to take the stool home 😂 by @chachphotography

When we have a rare sunny fall moment in Ketchikan, I immediately want to run outside with my camera and see who wants to play on the beach 😆 It’s definitely the season for being flexible with schedules, constantly watching the forecast on Windy and crossing all my fingers and toes that we won’t get stuck in a downpour plus wind 🫠🤞🏼But when the stars align, we get beautiful moments like this 🌟 by @chachphotography

Those first days and weeks with a newborn is a blissful haze. Some things feel natural, others feel unknown and you wonder if you’re doing it right. This is my favorite part about connecting with new parents. Reassuring them, answering their questions, encouraging them in all the little moments. You know your baby best and you’re figuring it out, one day at a time. by @chachphotography

Lately our days are spent exploring the beach, eating rocks (Theo), listening to audiobooks (me) and waiting for the next snack time. Countless changes of clothes as he launched into yet another puddle or just directly into the creek. Some days I just give up and he wanders in his diaper 🤷🏻‍♀️I’ve been thinking a lot about the photos of my own family - the professional sessions we’ve had done and the times where I pick up my big camera to cement in time the little bits of daily life. While I love them all, I think the real life moments will be my favorite to look back on. Every phase seems to go so fast and we continually have a new favorite quirk of Theo’s to appreciate. Current phase is the nose scrunched smile while tipping back into a trust fall then laughing maniacally 🤪🫠 (See also him climbing up and standing on the dining table 🤦🏻‍♀️) But that’s why I love to photograph families doing real life together - exploring the beach, cooking together in their home and snuggling up on the couch with a book. I think it’s safe to say those are the moments you’re going to want to look back on 🤍 by @chachphotography

Sunshine, cousins and barefoot beach exploring - the recipe for a great afternoon ☀️ by @chachphotography

We decided to head back to the same beach where we first documented their love story, and then again where they were married. Can’t wait to return again with their little one 💕 by @chachphotography
