Mixed bag from today’s official practice. I managed to shave down my time nicely in the first session but then suffered in the second, trying too hard to eek out those last few tenths. The third was wet and taught me more about the car than all the other sessions combined. Tomorrow, I go door-to-door with @brendonthemotormouth, @mark_jones_23, @setshabapm, Reuben van Niekerk and Tom Falkiner in two heats.

A day with two Italians? Don’t mind if I do.

The @scuderiaferrariza experience with the Amalfi and Purosangue allowed me to sample these two rather different machines. The Amalfi does what it says on the tin; front engine, rear drive sports car that is light, responsive, and agile. The big surprise was the Purosangue though. This howling V12 accelerates, stops, and turns in a way that completely belies its heft.

That’s a good day in the office.

I always knew that it would need a little love and TLC to get it to where I want it to be. There are a few things that still need addressing and I’m systematically chipping away at the list. It’s a 26-year old performance car, it’s to be expected. Each bit of work is like a date. Where we get to know each other a little bit better, and the romance is certainly building, even if it started with a bit of a trauma bond.
