Ladies!!!! Your vagina is a powerful portal! 💎💪🏾🔮

So much of your life happens through this space. Sex. Birth. Pleasure. Movement. Creation. but how often do we actually practice connecting to it?

We work our abs. We grow our glutes. We stretch our hips. But nobody really teaches us how to move our pelvic floor deeply and with intention.

Elevated Pelvic Chair Tilts give us awareness, control and a deeper relationship with our womb. There’s a whole part of your body waiting for you to reconnect with her. ❤️ #woman #pelvicfloor #stretching by @chairsweat

Stop teaching with your mouth and start teaching with your hands. 👀

Not everyone is an auditory or visual learner. Hands on corrections allow you to create a deeper understanding of what you should be feeling in the stretch. This is called mind to muscle connection.

Everybody in my class gets to experience hands on adjustments! #stretching #better #mobility by @chairsweat

You can tell a lot about a body by the way its spine moves!

Your nervous system uses pathways along your spine to communicate with your organs, which is one reason keeping your spine moving matters.

Cat + Cow takes your spine through flexion (rounding) and extension (arching) which allows your vertebrae to stay mobile, fluid, strong and youthful!

Screenshot this and see how different parts of your spine relate to different systems in your body! taken in New York, New York by @chairsweat

Your body has bad habits you probably don’t even notice.

They’re called movement patterns, and is exactly what I’m looking for when I observe you in class. It’s the knee that always falls inward when you squat. The hip you always shift into when you stand. The side of your body that always works harder than the other.

If you do something the same way long enough, your body starts treating it like the default, even when there’s a better way to move. by @chairsweat

Your glutes have to be strong before your hips can get more flexible!

Part of the Chair Sweat method is building strength and warming up the body before we get into deeper stretches. Flexibility is nothing without strength! by @chairsweat

Your stiff lower back might just need to remember how to MOVE again.

PELVIC TILTS teach your hips and lower spine to move together instead of staying stiff in one position.

ROUND/ FLEXION: Squeeze your glutes, tuck your hips forward and round through your lower back.

ARCH/ EXTENSION: Push your hips back, poke your butt out and let your lower back arch.

If you spend all day sitting, standing, driving, without moving your spine in both directions, stiffness and pain can start to feel normal.

That small back-and-forth movement improves lower-back mobility, builds core control, and helps relieve stiffness by taking your spine through movements it’s not getting enough of. by @chairsweat

Your larynx (throat) looks strangely similar to your uterus + vagina… 👀 but that’s not even the most interesting part.

Notice what happens during pleasure:

your hips move, breathing changes, pelvic muscles contract + release, and without anyone teaching you, your throat opens and sound comes out.

That moan is a total body response. Your brain, nervous system, breath, voice + pelvis are all participating. God made no mistakes, everything in your body is interconnected.

Sooooo those pelvic tilts? We’re practicing mobility, baby.
Whatever else you do with that mobility is your business. 😉 by @chairsweat

Let’s be honest with ourselves for a moment…

You don’t know how to stretch by yourself because the SECOND it gets uncomfortable, you let it go and give up. 😂

Your nervous system is designed to protect you, so of course your body wants to back out when it hurts and that is why assisted stretching hits different.

Your job is to lay there, breathe, and relax. MY job is to help you safely explore the range you keep running from.

So respectfully, stop fighting for your life stretching alone.
Baby, you need me. Let’s bffr. 😂

Book the appointment. 😉 #linknabio by @chairsweat

You’ll never have to guess what you’re supposed to look like, do, or feel. I’m going to walk you through it step by step. I’ll demo, use hands-on corrections, and talk you through each movement slowly until it makes sense in your body.

Your body is tense. You don’t know where to start, and everything looks intimidating.

Let me remove that barrier of fear for you. Allow yourself to release. You don’t have to know what you’re doing, you just have to show up. 💪🏾 by @chairsweat

I am a muse. My body is a museum.
I am both the art and the curator.

Movement is my medium.
My chair is my canvas.
And so I paint.

I paint for birthmarks and C-section scars,
for swollen bellies and empty wombs,
for heavy periods and prayers whispered over negative tests.

I paint for the bodies that opened up and brought life
and the bodies that decided they would not.

For hips learning to trust movement again.
for muscles that still remember hands they never invited.
For women learning that surviving inside a body
and belonging to it are two different things.

For bodies nature sculpted
and bodies women sculpted for themselves.
Inherited curves and purchased ones.
Soft stomachs and BBLs.

I paint for daughters who learned womanhood without their mothers.
For women who learned their bodies from bathroom mirrors, whispered conversations, mistakes, lovers, and doctors.

For bodies that have been desired, sold, exchanged, exploited, celebrated, judged yet still wake each morning belonging to no one but ourselves.

There are stories a woman carries beneath her clothes
that you will never know by looking at her.

And perhaps that is the point.

A masterpiece does not become less valuable because of what it survived to become.

So I do not hide the art to make the room comfortable or me more digestible.

I move.
I soften.
I adorn.
I reclaim.
I inspire.
I grow.

I am a muse. My body is a museum.
I am both the art and the curator.
And so I paint. by @chairsweat
