one man’s junk… leave it to scully to leave on his bike going for a swim and come home with this roadside broken table along for the ride. 🫣 sure wish i’d taken a pic! but i said, “and what do you plan to do with that?!” 😲 we have been dumpster divers since before we were married and time has not changed much… he said, “the hunt for a coffee table is over, we can use this! i’ll fix the broken leg!” so another dumpster diving project is in the books! and for all you coffee table styling friends, send me a pic of what’s on yours please! 🤗 not pictured: fun easy appetizers… you can send me those recipes too please!

and what did you do with your sunday? i found these sweet little brass buckles at @brimfield.antique.flea.market and decided it was time for some needlepoint bracelets with my favorite @thepepperpot.co silk from @theseagrassstudio something fun and portable to take to a house concert this afternoon! whoop! taken in Westport Harbor by @champagnemaker

my favorite fabric ever on one more window. it’s westport reinvented into a fabric! yes, another @libertyfabrics from my stash lined with a bedsheet and hanging on a repurposed bedskirt rod. my current needlepoint project says “start where you are, use what you have, do what you can” i’m on it! taken in Westport, Massachusetts by @champagnemaker

happiest little summer time lampshade yet! I do love my @libertyfabrics stash! i think the rest of this will be a top or dress by summer’s end or at least a few pillow cases. liberty’s tana lawn makes the dreamiest pillowcases! time for some needlepoint! by @champagnemaker

i can turn just about any project into too many steps and too many details in one skinny minute. Just had to add all the kantha patches and appliqué by hand, make a box shape and forget to adjust for my insert size 🙃 then make my own @libertylondon cording from my stash’aplenty… i ended up loving my new pillow tho. if you’ve watched me watch @homeworthy and @houseandgardenuk you’ve seen me standing at the tv taking pics of the most obscure details 🤭 then try to put them all into one project 🫣🥴 by @champagnemaker

tickled pink with my #chelseagirl shades!

made a little detour to meet @teresarocheartandtextiles last weekend @artandlightgallery and got myself some #chelseagirl yardage from the #alchemycollection most is going to upholster a bookcase, but had enough for these two lampshades and surely a pillow or two! should i add some @silkandivory french knots on the edges?! taken in Charlotte, North Carolina by @champagnemaker

lots have been asking what i’ve been doing with my retired self.

last week, i stopped talking about my @johnderiancompany obsession and finally started clipping pages from my books. @patterson.miller sent us to an estate sale in our neighborhood to try and score a bamboo table that was featured in their preview. unfortunately, we were too late to get the table that she wanted, but when she voted this one down because the top was ugly, we stuck it in the trunk anyway. now it’s going to westport! i spent an hour diving into my jd books while @handygrams made himself handy and sanded the top. so happy with my #modpodge adventure on my first piece of decoupaged furniture! my favorite part is the tiny nod to “scully,” jeff’s granddad name. the watercolor in the middle was inspired by mary mcguire’s and kolene spicher’s, not my own idea. i believe there’s a chest of drawers or two in our attics that will keep me going on this fun hobby. it was way faster than painting the whole thing, but thinking the chests can get a little (or a lot) of both, because more is more! “if i can’t make it, i don’t really need it” and “i may be boring, but i’m never bored!”

after i finished the table , i made a pillow and then headed off to @maryfrancesmaker workshop and carved myself a ring! stay tuned for more of that and that too will happen again. make sure i know you want to do it and i’ll let you know when and where! by @champagnemaker

When you pop in at your daughter’s house and your son-in-law is doing yard work! Thank you @instagrahammiller for trimming the branches and @patterson.miller for sharing! Your arrangement makes me want to paint more herons and bringing these branches home is exactly why I wanted a table in the middle of the living room! Now, if we could get it to last longer than 4 days!!! This is Spring in the South! I miss our Berkeley forsythia and the naked coral maple branches, but this is pretty too… and yes, I need window treatments #todolist by @champagnemaker
