Birds of a feather...This lovely paper suite by the uber-talented @champagnemaker was one of my favorite things from this past shoot. Also, our @lilacandlark bird Intaglio, linen from @tracizeller and real (very old) nest and eggs from @cotedesignsfloralsevents rounded this beautiful flatlay out by the amazing @megantravisphotography

I thought I was alone in this turmoil of mental fatique from all the shortages and substitutions of flowers. Designs reimagined on the fly. Last minute pivots to designs from 2019 that moved from 2020, and likely shifted seasons. With the severe flower shortages, each wedding is a whirlwind of sheer will power to source what is needed to still achieve the design and deliver a dream.

I thought I was alone. How grateful I was to read a post from @thepottedpansy admitting to the same struggle! I love how supportive the floral community can be. And, like her, I too feel the reward of the struggle. The growth achieved from the struggle coupled with success. The rethinking of the familiar go to flowers and foliage. The comorodory of sharing this struggle with fellow artists.

We are exhausted, mentally, and the season has only just begun. But I think that we will emerge stronger designers. 💪

A big thank you to @sggarden and @mayeshcharlotte @mayeshwholesale for doing what you do and helping us through these trying times.

We don’t talk about these special wedding day moments enough:

- At the altar, holding your partner’s hands and looking at all of your favorite people in one place.

- The quick moment alone with your person right after you recess down the aisle and you say “we finally did it!”

- During the reception when you’ve finally sat down together to eat and smile at all the hard work that has paid off.
