Honored, grateful, heart full ✨

Playing the ICA Vinyl Nights and representing @sojourn_boston felt like one of those moments where a lot of years suddenly came into focus. My first full vinyl set, digging through records that have been with me since the beginning of this journey, in front of a crowd that was completely open to being taken somewhere new.

A few people kept asking me, “where are you taking us next?” and that stayed with me. It felt bigger than the next track. There was a real trust - people willing to follow the curiosity, step through different portals, and discover something together.

Seeing so many friends there was humbling. The love was impossible to miss. And knowing my parents were watching the livestream all the way from Morocco, seeing this thing I’ve been building become real in a different way, meant more than I can put into words.

Thank you @shane.levi for the invitation and for trusting me with the space 🫂

The night kept unfolding from there. At the Sojourn afterparty, @kaierchen_ and @zella__________ absolutely cooked, and it was beautiful seeing new faces from the ICA come with us and explore deeper shades of the music.

Then Saturday, closing out the summer with @socialstudiesnight alongside some of Boston’s OGs was a cherry on top 🍒 Thank you @smadadian and @design.by.alfredo for having me.

Special love to the sound warriors who followed the whole weekend from one setting to the next. Seeing familiar faces keep showing up, listening deeply and carrying the energy with us meant a lot!!

A weekend I’ll remember forever. Mostly because of the people, the trust, and that feeling that there is still so much possible in this city.

“Where are you taking us next?”

I’ve been wondering the same thing ❤️ by @chaouki__alba

A little of what we brought to MIT @mitfuturefest through @sojourn_boston 🪄. Friends @kaierchen_ & @tante.pabs on the decks and good company on the floor :)

Much love to @davidsunkong & @tanitajenderes for making room for us, and @soundlogic_boston , @finbar.visuals , @heidi.heic and our crew for bringing it all together. Thanks to everyone who came for a dance under our lantern, in unfamiliar surroundings 🖤 by @chaouki__alba

Sojourn Presents: Tsuruta & Chaouki Alba

Sojourn’s fall season continues with Japanese-Lebanese artist Tsuruta. Tsuruta’s journey as a DJ has been propelled forward by his consistent curiosity - from experimenting with modular synths in his father’s studio to dedicating himself to learning and sharing dance music’s history through his time in record stores. This curiosity has birthed a singular style: an eclectic fusion of 80s and 90s electro, techno, new beat, and house - fit to capture your imagination and inspire movement.

Welcoming us into the night is Sojourn’s own Chaouki Alba. Through percussive deep cuts, moody atmospheres, and the analogue warmth of the ’90s, he shapes the opening set as a slow, deliberate arc - drawing the room closer one moment at a time and setting the dance floor in motion for the journey ahead.

@soundlogic_boston will be returning with the sound system that unlocked something special in the room at our last gathering, and sparked more than a few dance-floor epiphanies along the way :)

Early-bird tickets are available now through the link in our bio or the RA app.

See you soon on this side of the river ;)

Sojourn Picnic:

Sojourn returns to the other side of the river for a *free* midsummer gathering on Boston’s Harbor during Sail Boston’s celebration of the Tall Ships. As our city welcomes these international nautical wonders for the first time in decades, we welcome you to a tree-lined lawn within the grounds of the Charlestown Navy Yard for a music-centered picnic. Hugged by the harbor and shaped by the beautiful views of the city, this location is truly one of a kind.

For this gathering, pearls of our city’s scene (Patchwork and Kaierchen) join our residents to breathe life into a newly constructed Hi-Fi sound system from Boston’s Sound Logic. From the afternoon and onwards, these selectors will guide us through a kaleidoscope of dance music fit for the sunshine and sunset.

We encourage you to bring what makes the perfect picnic for you: blankets, lawn chairs, baskets of food, and all that make for a comfortable day beneath blue skies. For those using rideshare, we encourage you to use the 5th and Chelsea bus stop just outside the grounds as a destination. From there, you’ll easily be able to walk to our field.

Join us as we lift our sails *on land* and cruise through a summer day where it’s best spent: outdoors. Secure your FREE RSVP via RA to join our picnic on Boston’s harbor. See you on the *other* side of the river soon ;) taken in Charlestown Navy Yard by @chaouki__alba

Steep and Sojourn come together to welcome back one of our favorite artists, Moaad BKR!

Driven by years of musical research, Moaad possesses the rare ability to intuit a dance floor’s needs and translate them into a story. His poetic approach to dance music and deep sense of artistry have quietly made him a beloved figure for those in the know all over the world.

Moaad joined Steep for our anniversary party last year and swept us away, taking us on a beautiful, emotional journey. His range of records, from the nasty to the delicate, touched us deeply and left us wanting more.

For this edition, we are thrilled to team up with Sojourn and highlight their founder, Chaouki Alba. Chaouki’s commitment to raising the bar for what is possible here is inspiring. A dedicated selector with a sharp ear for deep grooves and interesting percussion, we’re eager to hear him set the tone for the night.

Join us in a foggy warehouse and get lost in the music of these two artists!

Sojourn Presents: Giammarco Orsini & Chaouki Alba

We’re pleased to welcome Giammarco Orsini once again to Boston. For Giammarco, connection is the essence of deejaying – connection between records, connection between people. Driven by a deep-rooted passion for digging and exploration, Giammarco’s selections span decades and genres alike. Always carrying a record bag full of elegant groovers, he has left an indelible mark on dancefloors worldwide. While often found on festival stages across the globe, he returns to Boston as a sign of his commitment to where he comes from: the underground.

Joining Orsini is Sojourn resident Chaouki Alba. During the opening hours, Chaouki wields emotive and captivating music to arrest your attention to the dancefloor. Alba and Orsini’s shared passion for the connecting power of music creates a pair that will surely guide this journey into the collective tempo we always seek.

On May 2nd, we get to work on building something impermanent but impactful - a meaningful dancefloor. Take our hands and join us for the mission ahead. Early birds are live on RA and can be found via the link in our bio or the RA app.

Sojourn Presents: Young Sun & Chaouki Alba

We’re honored to welcome one of our favorite discoveries of 2025 to the Sojourn booth: Busan-born and Seoul-based Young Sun. He channels the musical landscapes of Chicago and Detroit with a fluid, genre-blurring approach. Moving seamlessly from electro to progressive, he crafts sets built on tension and release with floor-shaking low end anchors, driving bouncy grooves, and sharp rhythms. Behind a calm demeanor lies a fiery fanatic for music, committed to upholding the roots of house and techno while leaving a distinctly Korean mark.

On opening duties is Sojourn founder and resident Chaouki Alba. Expect a tapestry of deep cut dance music that honors the importance of the early hours while capturing your attention. Behind the booth, he wears the cultural and musical heritage of Morocco with pride, weaving captivating percussion, rock instrumentation, and enticing grooves to lock in the discerning dancer.

On April 4th, we plant the seeds for the energy and approach that will carry us through the rest of our spring programming. Early birds are sold out before we could announce - move quick save on your admission. Join us for the journey at the link in our bio or via the RA app.

See you on this side of the river soon ;)
