Chapter is proud to announce the first ever reissue for Quiet Girl With A Credit Card, the 1996 classic debut by Australian alt-country icon Lisa Miller @lisamillersongs.
Quiet Girl With A Credit Card finally returns on vinyl LP and digital for its 30th anniversary on 23 October 2026. The vinyl is available for pre-order now on Lisa’s own No Relation Records, with physical and digital distribution by Chapter. It will be launched with some special live performances in October/November.
Lisa is a revered figure in Australian music, sharing stages with artists like Neil Young, Nick Cave, Billy Bragg, Alex Chilton, Jonathan Richman and Jimmy Webb. She has been nominated for nine ARIA awards, including Best Female Artist three times.
Quiet Girl With A Credit Card introduced Lisa’s warm, assured country-soul songwriting and glorious vocals to the world in 1996. Her own songs like Big American Car, Nobody’s An Angel and Hang My Head became much-loved modern classics, along with covers of tracks by Bob Dylan, Spooner Oldham, Dave Graney and Conway Savage. The album title comes from lyrics to the song Dave Graney wrote for her for this album, I’m Gonna Live My Life.
The album was originally released by W. Minc records in Australia and Demon Records in the UK. It has now been fully remastered by Mikey Young (Eddy Current Suppression Ring).
Lisa Miller launches Quiet Girl With A Credit Card with an instore on release day and two VIC shows in November:
Friday Oct 23 (6pm) - @rocksteadyrecords instore, Melbourne, free
Friday Nov 6 - @memomusichall, Melbourne
Sunday Nov 8 (afternoon) - @thearchiescreekhotel, Archies Creek VIC

Very sad to have to say RIP to Clag guitarist/songwriter and all round legend Rachael Cooke. Rachael is one of the most amazing musicians to have ever graced the Chapter catalogue and a true iconoclast. It is an honour to have been able to release early Clag recordings in the 90s and then a full reissue of their incredible catalogue as the Pasted Youth CD in 2012. Rachael and Clag vocalist Bek Moore (who passed away in 2016) were the Lennon & McCartney of Brisbane’s DIY underground and their songs will live forever.
Much love to Rachael’s devoted friends and family, may she rest in peace. by @chaptermusic

That was quick! Black vinyl mailorder copies of Can’t Stop It! Vol 2 are already all gone, as are all the copies we had for Australian retail. There are less than 10 of the black vinyl at our mailorder partners in the US and Europe too, and they will be gone soon. So we’ve ordered a black vinyl repress and put it up for preorder on the Chapter Bandcamp and website. If you’re in Aus/NZ and want a copy sent to you with reasonable postage, this is the one to go for, it’ll ship out early December or maybe even earlier. But Nb we do still have copies of the white vinyl with a pale blue central cloud, exclusive to the Bandcamp and website (plus @amoebahollywood in the US and @roughtrade in the UK)! So if you’re a coloured vinyl person you’re still in luck, although once those are gone we won’t be repressing in colour, just sticking to black, so don’t sleep on these cause they’ll be gone soon!
If you want a copy of the black vinyl in Aus right now, best bet is to check with your local record stores, cause there might still be one or two left in the racks, but not many!

Maydena Creek is the new solo album for Australian post-punk iconoclast David Chesworth @chesworth.d , renowned for his 80s groups Essendon Airport @the_hangar_1979, Whadya Want? and David Chesworth & Bill McDonald, plus his composition and sound-art works of the last four decades. The album is released on vinyl by @programrecords and digitally by Chapter Music on 16 October 2026, and is available for pre-order now. Today we share gently disorientating first single Sun Keeps Shining, featuring David’s first new vocal recording since 1988.
The album is named after a creek that runs beneath a Tasmanian rainforest, a recording of which appears briefly on the album. Subterranean geological vibrations combine on Maydena Creek with modern distortions and surreal imagery to form a compelling and hallucinatory work.
With a career now spanning more than 40 years, David is renowned for many things, but probably best known for his pioneering minimal synth explorations on 1979 album 50 Synthesizer Greats, and his hypnotic and beguiling work alongside guitarist Robert Goodge in Essendon Airport, who have been active on and off since 1978. by @chaptermusic

“People With Leukaemia” by Chocolate Grinders is one of the six never before reissued bonus tracks on the new Can’t Stop It! II - Australian Post-Punk 1979-84 deluxe double vinyl reissue.
This one-off 1981 single on David Chesworth @chesworth.d and Philip Brophy’s Innocent Records does not give much away on its screenprinted cover, but is actually a solo project for Ralph Traviato, saxophonist and often vocalist for Melbourne art-punk icons → ↑ →. Ralph has assistance here from → ↑ →’s Philip Brophy on drums, Essendon Airport @the_hangar_1979 ‘s Robert Goodge on guitar, and the same group’s David Chesworth manning the mixing desk. “Jerky Disco/Funk with a cute riff and not-so-cute lyric,” is how it was aptly described in Innocent’s 1981 catalogue. The B-side is an enjoyably art-damaged “Reconstituted” dub of the A.

“Living Out of Living” by Tiny Town is another of the six previously unreissued bonus tracks from the new deluxe double vinyl reissue of Can’t Stop It! II - Australian Post-Punk 1979-84.
Is a band really Australian if they formed in London, released all their records in the UK and never performed in Australia? In the case of Tiny Town, an argument can be made to claim them as they were effectively Brisbane band the Supports and then Antic Frantic, who after one 1982 cassette moved en masse to England, where they incorporated violinist Caroline Bush into the band. Beginning with a cassette and a flexidisc in 1983, the band were relatively prolific compared to their peers back home, releasing two singles in 1984, then an EP and an album in 1985. Living Out Of Living is the dynamic A-side of one of their 1984 7”s, released on their own Elastic label.
Peter Loveday @peter.loveday.music , also of pre-Antic Frantic band Birds Of Tin, was the band’s guitarist and primary songwriter, with keyboardist Leigh Bradshaw assuming more vocal duties and writing as the band progressed. Drummer Geoffrey Titley, Bradshaw and Loveday had been in the Supports in late 70s Brisbane, touring far north Queensland with the Go-Betweens in 1979 in a double decker bus. Titley then moved to the UK and played in legendary UK DIY heroes the Desperate Bicycles, before returning to Brisbane to join Antic Frantic…and then heading back to London with his bandmates. Cameron Allan joined on bass for their great album Little Tin God. Peter Loveday is these days based in Barcelona, has continued to record as a solo artist, and this year released an excellent collaborative album with Orange Juice’s David McClymont.

One of the six never before reissued bonus tracks on the new Can’t Stop It! II - Australian Post-Punk 1979-84 deluxe 2LP is “How” by This 5 Minutes.
Brisbane in 1983 was very different to New York in 1983, but you could be forgiven for thinking otherwise when watching the remarkable Peter Jetnikoff-directed music video for How, which thankfully survives on Youtube. Sharply dressed cool kids dance and clap along in what looks like an arty loft apartment (actually a community arts centre) to this prescient track, which actually sounds more like Manchester 1989 than Brisbane (or NYC) 1983. “We loved Prince and Orange Juice and that Postcard Records sound,” says guitarist/vocalist Tony Moore.
The band were Moore (later of Dog Fish Cat Bird), bassist Tom McKeon and drummer Greg Gilbert (a member of the Dum Dums with future Beasts of Bourbon vocalist Greg “Tex” Perkins, and the Pits as heard on Can’t Stop It! #1). They released this 7” in at least two pressings, one with a yellow cover and one in white, after a more jazzy six song cassette Swing Between The Flags in 1982.
Can’t Stop It! II is out now on black vinyl (in record stores) and white+blue vinyl (exclusively via @amoebahollywood in the US, @roughtrade in the UK, and the Chapter website and Bandcamp everywhere else). Link in bio. by @chaptermusic
