I have been sitting in how I felt about my show last week. And first off I wanna say Thank You God. Thank you sooo much for the talent you gave me and the doors you are opening up for me! I’ve cried, I’ve laughed and I’ve just truly sat in my growth and my shock. Like I really did this! I REALLY DID THIS!! Last Friday I hosted my first live show in 3 years! My first show back as a solo podcaster and my comeback to the rebrand of Black Women Diaries Podcast! And I packed the room out! God is good!!! I’ve been doing podcasting for 6 years now and this is my 5th year of hosting live podcast shows and I want to say this is probably my biggest one yet & the best is yet to come. And hunnieeee I’m just getting started! I know what I’m doing is beautiful. Bringing people together to have conversations is a beautiful thing. Sharing my stage with Amazing talents is a privilege and beautiful blessing!! All the stress, nerves & anxiety paid off!! My hard work has paid off! Mama…. I still am in disbelief about the fact you are no longer here with us. Who would have ever thought I would have to make a post like this at 28…. Always growing up I was told I’m “Lil Val” or “you sholl act just like Val” well I always said I’m Val 2.0 😂. But Mama Thank you for being my Mama! I’m thankful for the lessons that you instilled in me…. I had a great mom. And it’s some stuff I gotta do to make you proud so I hope I made you proud of how I’m sending you off. Everyone said you prepared me for this and prepared me to be strong… but idk about this one… you messed me up for sure. I love you. Watch over me & you know I got daddy always! Flora J… my beautiful spirited full of laughter but yet sassy & smart mouth grandma took her final rest on July 25….. 4 months after my loosing my mom….& Grany you definitely shocked me with this one & you really hurt me w/ this one… I’m broken-hearted & I’m not ok…. I’ve been Soo excited to come & see my Grany to celebrate your life for your 88th birthday….but I’m coming to celebrate you just in a different way but still celebrating the life God gave you. I wish I had sooo much more time with you my Guh. You were my lunch / dinner date forever. As long as we were around each other & I kept you fed lol. Grany you were stern, but gentle.., you kept it 💯 and didn’t care how someone / me felt about it, but you ended it with “I still love you”….I loved to come over and just sit with you & then just lay on your lap while you play in my hair. My little old lady (as you would refer to yourself lol) how I will miss you. My love for animals (Especially dogs) , creativity & my bluntness came from you. I’m thankful for the grandparents I was blessed with. All I mean ALL of my grandparents & my extra grandparents all had a LOVE with God & that was the foundation. But you definitely were my spunky Grany. Girl how I’m going to miss you. Say hey to my Mama , Grany Beverly, Grany Ruby , GDaddy, Grandaddy Raymond & the love of your life PawPaw. I know all of you are watching over me. But I’ll do anything to see y’all again. But the Gang is back together. I know your in Heaven laughing , being smart mouth & happy to be reunited with your mama. Dancing in the sky! Over the years, Black Women Diaries have made some connections, and even brought some of our friends along for the ride. 6 years of podcasting and we have had ups and downs but I’ve made some amazing memories , conversations and genuine connections along the way. We are excited to bring on guest to the show to add to the meaningful conversation and the hard conversations that need to be shared. So Tag your favorite podcast.
