[Promo below] Injuring my back was definitely not on my 2025 bucket list! But there I was, still in pain a month later, still relying on painkillers, patches and creams, not being able to do the things that were once easy for me. I couldn’t sit, walk, stand, lie down or keep bending for long, couldn’t lie on my desk to nap, or shop in heels 👠 for an hour - all without giving myself a painful backache. And most would know I live in heels to match my girly outfits so I was frankly quite upset. I decided to stop pushing through the pain alone and turned to physiotherapy. At @prohealthsg.physio , my physiotherapist @chris.physiosg took the time to understand my history (including my past shoulder injury), assess my condition thoroughly, and tailor a mix of therapies/treatments (e.g, shockwave, ultrasound, massage blade) to speed up my healing and bring much needed relief to my tender, painful spots. Beyond the treatments, what helped just as much was the reminder that motion is lotion, that even a simple 10-min walk a day could support my back recovery.And while Chris was impressed I could climb 20 floors (26 to be exact) in heels, he also gently pointed out why proper shoes might be a better idea 😅He also shared more advice for my long term recovery which I did give some serious thought to. Mini Reno Diaries: from Chaos to Cosy! Didn’t wanna move house after staying here for a decade so we decided to do a bit of renovation last year to meet our current needs (i.e. needed a whole lot more cupboard space). We renovated our 2 toilets in phases, upgraded the shoe cabinet to a huge cupboard at the doorway, added more full height cupboards to the master bedroom and kid’s room, plus refreshed our kitchen (more storage underneath my colonial-style window, changed countertops, stove and sink).Gosh it was super painful and inconvenient to live in while the renovation was going on. The cleaning up was insane esp when the contractor was cutting through the concrete support for the sink. 😔I was so relieved when the reno was finally over. I am definitely not one of those people who find moving house or reno fun. And erm, this is an 8 months overdue post but I thought about how committed I was to wearing that white dress for all the shots and decided I’d better not let my effort go to waste. Haha!And guess what, the idea of reno first started all because I wanted to get a pink water dispenser (see last frame).
