Yesterday we celebrated my amazing Dad turning 80 (the youngest and silliest 80 year old you’ll ever meet!) and as part of the celebrations, I made him this cake! I’m not usually one to toot my own horn but I’m actually pretty proud of this one ⛷️ 🎂 ⛷️ by @charli_wenden

A weekend of friendships and books - can it get any better than that? I have just returned home from another sensational writing retreat where we’ve laughed, relaxed, read, and created - in whichever form we wanted to! I’ve come away filled with confidence, motivation and inspiration and that only happens because of the love and support that these wonderful ladies give! I was loathed to leave but I’m already excited for our next one, so thank you, thank you, thank you! ❤️ xx by @charli_wenden

Last week I took myself off for a solo writing retreat. Time away from the daily pressures for rest, relaxation and most importantly- writing! Well I certainly achieved all three and particularly enjoyed cooling off in the sea during the heatwave! I don’t know what it is about the sea that calms me but whether it’s beautiful sunshine and gentle lapping waves or dark and stormy, I always feel at peace. I feel so lucky to have been able to do this and will definitely be doing it again! by @charli_wenden

What better way to start the week - I’m so thrilled and proud to have come 2nd 🥳🥳🥳 in fact I can’t quite take it in 😊 Many congratulations to all the winners; shortlisters; longlisters and to everyone who enters in fact because it takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there! And also a big thank you to @iaminprint for organising the competition and to the judge of my category @littletigerbooks by @charli_wenden

Retreat time…

Books, bubbles, walking boots and the best group of creatives to bring out stories!

You are all awesome and I’m blessed to have you in my life. Thank you for being the wonderful and supportive people you all are.

Managed a little digital illustration, a lot of story editing and now feel refocused and eager to keep going!

Thank you @thefairytalemum @charli_wenden

Celebrity Traitors UK has been the best tv show this year - I absolutely loved it! The whole cast were amazing but particular mention to @catburns and @joemarler17 who played a blinder. However it was @chattyman ‘s innate Alan-ness that stole the show - well played 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 by @charli_wenden
