So beyond thrilled and honored to finally announce that our piece, “The Horse Hotel,” has been officially selected for the Art For Life Chicago 2025 Exhibition and Auction! 🐎🏨
-
To have our work recognized by a panel of nationally renowned jurors is an absolute dream, and we are so grateful to the Board of Directors at @diffachicago and the entire @artforlifechicago committee for this incredible opportunity.
-
Out of nearly 200 entries from around the world, “The Horse Hotel” was chosen! 🐝
-
What makes this honor even more meaningful is the vital mission it supports. This event is dedicated to raising funds for Get To Zero Illinois, working to help those who are most impacted by HIV/AIDS. As an artist exploring themes of queerness and community in my work, contributing to a cause this close to my heart means a lot. ❤️‍🩹
-
The exhibition and auction will be held on TODAY, October 16, 2025, at the iconic Mart in Chicago (@themartchicago) (I am in Detroit/A2 so will be there in spirit!)
-
Please come out and support this incredible evening of art for a cause if you’re there!

We are back with many updates for you, but before we begin recapping, share some exciting announcements, and reflect on our current endeavors with all things INTERSTATES, we have Stop #7: Arizona, TOMORROW!

We will be presenting INTERSTATES through the Media & Culture category at the UIUC Undergraduate Research Symposium!

Our presentation, entitled “The Interstates Project: The American Mirage, Our Nation’s Mother Road, and the Death of the American Highway,” will examine the breadth, implications, and contextualization of our ongoing, multimedia project.
-
Come by between 12:15-1:30 PM to Room 211 at the Illini Union to see us present and to listen to the lovely other presenters across our category. We hope to see you there (Arizona stickers will also be available)!
