Hi! I see you’ve returned since your card got declined last year! So sorry to say but we have to cut the card again!!! Womp womp! In order for you to be reinstated, you must travel across the US and make it to Los Angeles without your cracked windshield caving in on you. Once you arrive, you will have to perform a 7 hour shift at Texas Roadhouse and then immediately begin a full dining set on the pottery wheel. From scratch! You have exactly 15 days. Good luck, Pepita! We will see you in Santa Monica! 🖖🫒💙

If you do not know the context of this caption pls go back to October 21, 2022-2025. Thank you!

INTERSTATES Archive 🎞️ | Double Exposure from Gallery Art Bar
-
A year ago at this time, we were deinstalling our show at Gallery Art Bar and it’s been a reflective week as I prep for another big trip while simultaneously making space on hard drives for new work and consolidate and organize old work.
-
As it’s been 100 years since the birth of Route 66 and currently is celebrating its centennial year, it’s time to clear images that haven’t been posted digitally and reflect on this project almost 2 years since its creation (what!!).
-
Enjoy this first glimpse into that and stay tuned for more. 🚗
-
Endless love,
~WrH (and Charlotte, bc it’s INTERSTATES duh).

2025, part 1! 🫶🎱

2025, diva you were a lot. But with every year that passes, I grow grateful for the chaos and calm and find myself in a state of intense reflection. Here’s a look into my camera roll and the moments that made part 1 of this year. 🔥

The inaugural INTERSTATES exhibition in Fall 2024 finally brought the first form of our multimedia investigation to life. 🌵
-
What began as a longing for escape evolved into a deep, sustained exploration of America via Historic Route 66. We introduced audiences to just a glimpse of the personas developed from our 5,000+ mile journey, each character acting as a guide and an agent for contemplating the complex state of the nation in 2024. The exhibit highlighted the tension between the romantic nostalgia of the “Mother Road” and the reality of existing within its fragmented regions. 💥📍
-
Within this first showing, viewers encountered the central themes: the evocative symbolism of the roadside graves as memorials for each persona’s outlook, and the dense accumulation of artifacts within the centerpiece—a visual clock representing the constant unboxing and repacking of our expedition. Thank you to everyone who visited the Bloc Gallery and supported the initial unveiling of this multi-year project. 👑

So beyond thrilled and honored to finally announce that our piece, “The Horse Hotel,” has been officially selected for the Art For Life Chicago 2025 Exhibition and Auction! 🐎🏨
-
To have our work recognized by a panel of nationally renowned jurors is an absolute dream, and we are so grateful to the Board of Directors at @diffachicago and the entire @artforlifechicago committee for this incredible opportunity.
-
Out of nearly 200 entries from around the world, “The Horse Hotel” was chosen! 🐝
-
What makes this honor even more meaningful is the vital mission it supports. This event is dedicated to raising funds for Get To Zero Illinois, working to help those who are most impacted by HIV/AIDS. As an artist exploring themes of queerness and community in my work, contributing to a cause this close to my heart means a lot. ❤️‍🩹
-
The exhibition and auction will be held on TODAY, October 16, 2025, at the iconic Mart in Chicago (@themartchicago) (I am in Detroit/A2 so will be there in spirit!)
-
Please come out and support this incredible evening of art for a cause if you’re there!
-
Link in bio for more info under “Current Shows!” 🎟️
