Hollyhocks are clearly a thing in western art - perhaps it’s just me but I feel like I see it frequently. I guess I am now a member of that club.....

@allielouiseart suggested we make the pairing for our summer exhibit based on the source image - also included here. Being highly challenged to capture light, I went for emphasis on form - I kinda liked how these billowy blooms came to fruition.....

Super thankful to @ChaseReynoldsEwald for pitching this story to Western Art and Architecture for the June/July summer issue. Truly honored to be interviewed and written about for a magazine I so enjoy reading. Chase wrote about Livingston in a way that really captured what I too love about this place and what has inspired me to make the work I am today.

Writing “Postcards from the Road to DC” for @big_sky_journal was a great way to relive the Smithsonian Bison Roadtrip.
Photographer @audreyhallphoto, artist @staabstudios, filmmaker @trevor_hawkins_film & Smithsonian NMNH head @leafdoctor along with artist @chase.deforest and NMNH logistical wizard @christine716 and I drove 2,000 miles across the Great Plains and into cities on the trail of 2 monumental bronze sculptures.
At a time when our wildlife, public lands and access to the outdoors is under threat, watching the bull, cow and calf buffalo group being installed in front of the museum on the National Mall represents a moment of hope.
Bison, which were almost wiped out in the late 1800s, are charismatic, resilient and utterly American. There’s a reason they were named our national mammal.

We’re creating pairings - making the same image at the same scale - of all the things you might find in this meadowy paradise: botanicals, horse tack, trailers, bird feathers….

After being an attendee for a couple of years, I’m delighted to have been juried in as a vendor @oldsaltfestival this year.

I’ve always referred to Old Salt as a regenerative ag conference with a bit of music. I love the Land Talk Lounge and mission/education centric invitees at the General Store. Plus, a guest chef each year to celebrate what unifies us for this weekend on the stunning Mannix ranch: food sovereignty.

Completely honored to be interviewed by Corby Skinner & Jennifer Corning for Resounds. The show is a great overview of all the amazing art stuff that goes on in this state, and has been running since 2017.

Utter serendipity that they saw my artwork Trail Ride at the Yellowstone Art Museum and decided to look a little further to discover I was also a boot maker based in Livingston.

And who knew, but no surprise really, that my leather racks would also double as sound baffles for terrific acoustics!
