“Escalante, 1933”
My favorite piece so far! Based on the mystery and wonder surrounding Everett Ruess and his disappearance into the American Southwest in his late teens during the 1930s (please read ‘A Vagabond for Beauty’) whom I’ve thought about for 20+ years now.

Baroness at Kung Fu Necktie 12/15/2024
Scroll dat thang 👉🏼
I was incredibly lucky to be able to attend this sold out, intimate show. I needed it. These wonderful people make some of my favorite music and art. They’re exceptionally humble and down to earth, intelligent, oozing with art and passion. I’m so glad I brought my camera along.
The band ripped through their Red and Blue albums and had the entire crowd transfixed.
Art makes art.

“Fire in the Pines”
10-10-24 Warren Grove, NJ
10 second exposure while bouncing my phones flashlight off the palm of my hand to softly illuminate the foreground.

Never in my life did I think I’d get to photograph Aurora this vibrant in New Jersey. Sick of seeing photos of them? I couldn’t care less. This was an exceptionally rare opportunity for all of us to gawk at in amazement. I don’t have the words for how grateful I am to have experienced it. We were all looking up together. The natural reaction to something of such power is to document it, especially for someone like me.

I headed down to one of my favorite spots in the Pine Barrens. I spent the previous day looking at satellite imagery and made note that I’d be looking due north over Governor’s Pond in the stunted dwarf Pitch Pine plains. It was the perfect location and with Milky Way-dark skies I knew it would only enhance the experience.

There were two periods of exceptional activity and intensity. The first occurring around 7:15 PM, still twilight. As I rounded the jug-handle approaching the parkway, I watched my car’s compass hit north and the sky was on fire with curtains of red light. I couldn’t believe my eyes!

The second period of spectacular auroral activity occurred from roughly 10:00 - 10:30 PM. The entire sky (even directly overhead!) was rolling, shimmering and slowly changing with curtains and ribbons of greens and reds. Far up the road, I could hear groups of people cheering with excitement.
-I lost my mind-
It was one of the most intense and moving moments of my life.
Tears in my eyes, photographing as much as I could while being sure to stand and look up, drenched in utter amazement.

Thank you, universe. Thank you, NOAA. Thank you, science.
So immensely grateful.

“The Changing Of The Season”
Watercolor & Gouache paints on paper 10”x8”
I can’t believe how this one came together. Sat down to play around with watercolors and transitioned to gouache midway through. Then, a whole story and vibe evolved. No reference photo, just a brain full of anxiety trying to feel something.
