The ocean swells were fierce during Friday's morning dive! While we divers always presents challenges of our own, I have the highest respect and admiration for all the skippers out there that take on the seas to bring us divers safely to the dive site and back 🙌

Very first visit to Manta Reef today! Was super thrilled to be able to use my camera again and we had the best sea conditions and visibility in nearly two months! Still a few photos from my incredible few months that I spent in Mozambique that I still need to post, the first of which I give to you now!

Taken during the safety stop during our dive at Manta Reef. Although the dive is technically over by this point, some of the most incredible marine encounters happen during the ascent back to the surface rather than during your bottom time!

To many fortunate people out there, this may be a weekly occurence but to me, this was my very first ever encounter with a whale shark and it did not dissapoint...

The truth is that I was lucky enough to see these magnificent creatures two days in a row! The first was a fully grown adult, the size of which gave me goosebumps; unfortunately I was unable to capture any decent images of her as she was a considerable distance away and was quite skittish. However, pictured here the following day in the EXACT same spot during our safety stop, this very inquisitive juvenille whale shark graced us with her presense and stuck around for a few minutes before she moved on.

The picture didn't turn out as well as I would have hoped and had to spend a lot of time cleaning it up at the cost of a somewhat 'grainy' effect. While not my best photo, this is a moment in my life I wanted to share with you all 😍

Dragon moray eel giving us his best smile 🐲😁

This has been my very first attempt at macro photography. Took this capture on my final dive during my stay in Praia De Jangamo, Mozambique! Until now I had never seen a Dragon eel before and there this guy was hiding inside a coral tree. Must've thought I was the paparazzi 📸

Chronicles from Coral Gardens 📸

Although the bulk of what we do here in Guinjata Bay is recreational scuba diving, we do also enjoy taking groups out on snorkeling trips from time to time. On a clear day, the magnificent corals and marine life of Coral Gardens light up like Christmas trees and leave guests with a breathtaking experience. Some of the deeper sections of the reef also provide opportunity for freedivers to go wild as well!

Since I have been in Mozambique, I have been putting a strong emphasis on underwater portrait photography but I've decided to start branching out and capturing more of the stunning marine life that Guinjata Bay has to offer.

This is my first attempt. Nothing spectacular but practice will hopefully make perfect! I look forward to sharing more of this with you all 🤩📸

There is a magic about the sea that is beyond the power of words to describe 🌊

I took this portrait of Chris on one of our most recent trips to Coral Gardens, a pristine snorkeling and freediving destination in Mozambique. We were really blessed this day with a combination of beautiful skies, calm seas, and crystal clear visibility 🤩. Great fun was had by all!

Our trip to Manta Reef on Sunday was a first for quite a few things. It was the best visibility and sea conditions that Guinjata Bay had seen in a long time and as though fate had planned it, it just so happened to be the same day I finally had the chance to bring the camera on a dive again!

Although I'm still learning a lot about ocean photography, I'm very happy with the results so far!
