Être un produit colonial dans un monde qui se décolonialise c'est de pouvoir analyser son entourage et de se approprié ce qui est soit.

Une semaine de formation sur l'écriture critique avec la formatrice Leïla Quillacq, Move for Art qui a conçu une Team Moris d'enfer, documents d'artistes la réunion pour la gérance de ce projet Mayaz Pro et la Fondation H pour nous avoir ouvert ses ports à Madagascar. Sans oublier tous les participants des îles; Madagascar, La Réunion et Maurice.

De belles rencontres et d'échanges.

Last stop was Zeitz MOCCAA - a celebration of Africa art and diaspora gathered in a singular space for storytelling, creativity and exchange to paraphrase their story.

There is a plethora of permanent and temporary exhibition that walks you through the complex history of Africa through contemporary art and I LOVE it! There is something peculiar in telling a story based on the distillation of history - tangible or intangile - into art.

The presence of the curatorial hand hangs heavily in the space but in a way helps to frame and push forward the research and academic foundation of the key messages presented to the visitors. It can be quite heavy, if you try and soaks everything at once, but the experience of a visit will stick with you.

Lastly, I cannot talk about the museum without mentioning the architecture! Carved out of silos, used to hold grains in the 1920's, the space does not shy on it's own complexity and maze like feeling. There is a central open space with a rotating installation programme and you are invited to meander the 6 different levels with stairs and lifts. I particular love that the content spills outside of the museum wall, starting your engagement even before you enter. taken in Zeitz MOCAA by @chasingrothko

Tucked away in the urban jungle of Bukit Bintang, between 1950s housing complex, UR_MU (Urban Museum) is a redeveloped museum that aims to capture Malaysian living through contemporary art.

The four levels appartment was redesign with accessibility in mind with lift, ramps accessible toilets at every level and a streamlined narratives that touched upon local history, social context and folklore but with a contemporary art lense.

My favourite feauture are the holes drilled in the top floor walls; as vignettes to the outside living, busing KL. A voyerism opening into the everyday of the neighbourhood. It forces you question the duality of modern society and labour production.

It was recommended and I would highly recommend. by @chasingrothko
