T’s Fire Starter
This is my variation of the blow torch, it’s a perfect mix of a guides choice hares ear, blow torch, red ass, and sexy waltz.
This fly was an absolute staple for me this fall both when guiding and fishing for my self.
It slayed fish both under a indicator and as a dry dropper everywhere from the South Platte near 11 mile, clear creek to boulder creek all the way to the Eagle, from late august to end of guide season I don’t think this fly left my rig but a few times. Just an all around solid attractor pattern.

Alaska day 4: BEAR SCARE.

Shortly after releasing this dolly in the first video I got back to fishing (the creek here is only 30 ft wide max) I’m standing in the middle of the river and I hear a “crack” as I go to look up I see the biggest bear I’ve ever seen in my entire life just looking at me 15 ft away.
But we are here to tell the tale. by @chasingtailjigs

Yesterday I had the pleasure of getting my good friend Mike out on the water and showing him a new area of the park that he’d never fished before. This was @iraqiural_fishingadventure third trip with me, and we had an absolute blast!

The water temperatures in the park are holding up well if you’re willing to get an early start and wrap up early. Yesterday morning we started at 53°F, and the water never climbed above 57°F.

With the water gin clear, a careful approach and accurate presentations were key. The fish were willing to eat a wide variety of bugs both on the surface and below it.

Late last season, I set a goal to learn more about carp fishing on the fly and become more consistent at it.

It’s been a grind, but I’m finally starting to find some repeatable success.

These fish are incredibly underrated. From getting close enough without spooking them, to making the right presentation, every part of the process is challenging. And when everything comes together and a fish eats, the fight is absolutely worth it.

I’ve had plenty of days walking back to the car with my head down after doing nothing but spooking fish. That’s what makes these moments so rewarding. It’s a great feeling to finally see the hard work starting to pay off. by @chasingtailjigs
