POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

What a weekend at Orvis!

Yesterday I shared the story of Jama Goers who traded her raffle prize to take home the Mackenzie Midge.

Today, I wanted to share something equally special-
Seeing Cat Toy, Jeff Rowley, Jason Haddix, Travis Hanson and Cole Conley all tying flies with their Twisted Feather chests!

When you spend countless hours in the shop designing and building these chests, there's nothing quite like seeing them being used by talented fly tyers.

Thank you all for your support, and thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success!

The best guides know the river and how to share it.

Preparation. Knowledge. Communication. Patience. Adaptability. Passion. And a sense of humor, because the fish don’t always follow the plan.

A great day on the water is about more than catching fish. It’s about teaching, encouraging, adapting, and helping every angler feel at home.

Whether you’re casting for the first time or have fished longer than some of our guides have been alive, we’ll meet you where you are and help you grow.

We’re proud of the guides who represent Arbor Anglers and bring expertise to every trip.

Ready to experience it for yourself? Tap the link in our bio to connect with the shop, learn more about our fall Walk and Wade specials, and start planning your day on the river.

And yes, catching fish is part of the plan.

Today I was trying to find fish in 20 feet of water when I found a chunky bass sitting on this dock 🐟🎣

It’s nice to see our fly tying tools in “tyers row” when we travel to trade shows….we have a long list of professional tyers that love the full ceramic tube bobbin, tungsten scissors, and dubbing brush…we sell them on our shop (link in bio) and usually have them available at our trade show booths….big ups @chasingtailjigs @flannelsandflies & @rick_tak for always stocking up at the shows 🎣💯

This is what @arboranglers Outfitters is all about.

This weekend our guides volunteered at a @erieparksandrec children’s fishing derby, introducing young anglers and their families to the sport we love.

While catching fish is exciting, the bigger opportunity is helping kids build a connection to the outdoors. Teaching a cast. Learning patience. Understanding conservation. Respecting our rivers, lakes, and public lands.

Many of the kids who stopped by our Casting Basics station had never fly fished before. By the end of the day, they weren’t just learning how to cast—they were discovering a new way to experience the outdoors.

We’re incredibly grateful for our guide team who donated their time, knowledge, and passion to make the day possible. Their commitment to mentoring the next generation is one of the reasons we’re so proud to have them represent Arbor Anglers.

The future of fly fishing isn’t just about the fish we catch. It’s about the people we inspire to care for our waters and wild places long after we’re gone.

Thanks to @coloradodeaddrifters , @chasingtailjigs @clayton_dunson22 volunteers their time today. And everyone who stopped by and helped make the day such a success.

See you on the water. 🎣

Amazing day exploring some private water with my fellow guides from @arboranglers. If you want the opportunity to catch some of these hogs reach out to the shop. These properties have some huge fish and are not to be missed!! #tightlines #troutbum #flyfishing #flyfishingadventures #coloradoflyfishing

Travis, was fantastic. First time fly fishing for my wife. Not a bad first fish. Mine was a beast.

Thanks Travis.
