Every home is different.

That’s why our service goes far beyond helping you choose furniture.

Whether you’re planning a complete room redesign, looking for a bespoke storage solution, or simply trying to make a space work better, we’re here to help bring the pieces together.

Working alongside our in-house designer, Kristina, clients can explore layouts, materials, finishes, colours, and configurations that are tailored to the way they live.

Sometimes it’s about maximising storage.

Sometimes it’s about solving an awkward space.

Sometimes it’s simply about creating a home that feels more considered and more personal.

Behind every project, installation, delivery, and design is a team of people who genuinely care about getting things right.

We’re a family-run business, and always have been.

That means a hands-on approach, honest advice, and a team that takes pride in helping clients create homes they’ll enjoy for years to come.

Between us, we bring decades of experience in furniture, interior design, space planning, and customer service. But more importantly, we understand that every home and every client is different.

Whether you’re visiting the showroom for inspiration, planning a complete redesign, or searching for a single piece that feels just right, you’ll be working with people who take the time to listen and help.

It’s one of the reasons so many of our clients come back to us time and time again.

We’re proud of the furniture we sell, but we’re even prouder of the people behind it.

Welcome to Chattels 🛋️

We’ve been helping people create beautiful homes from our Chester showroom for over 30 years.

As an independent, family-run business, we believe furniture should do more than simply fill a space. It should reflect the people who live there, solve problems, and create homes that feel personal, comfortable, and memorable.

Inside our showroom you’ll find carefully selected collections from some of Europe’s leading furniture and lighting brands, alongside design-led pieces for a wide range of styles, spaces, and budgets.

Whether you’re searching for a statement dining table, a new sofa, bespoke storage, outdoor furniture, or inspiration for a complete room redesign, we’re here to help.

Beyond the furniture itself, we also offer an in-house design service, delivery, and installation, helping bring projects to life from initial ideas through to the finishing touches.

If you’ve never visited before, we’d love to welcome you.

Imagine having a place for everything. And actually knowing where everything is.

Sounds simple, doesn’t it? But the right storage can make a surprising difference to how your home looks, feels and functions.

That’s why we love working with Pianca.

From beautifully considered living room cabinetry to wardrobes and fitted storage, their collections give us the flexibility to create something that works around you.

And it’s about much more than choosing a cabinet you like the look of.

We can help you think through what you need to store, how you use the space, which configurations make sense and the finishes that will complement the rest of your home.

Because good storage shouldn’t just hide the clutter. It should make everyday life that little bit easier, while looking beautiful too.

Our team can help you explore the possibilities, from the initial design right through to installation.

So, if your home could do with a little more organisation, come and have a chat with us.

There’s a reason so many of our customers come back to see us year after year.

For us, good customer service has never been about simply selling you something.

It’s about getting to know you, understanding your home and listening to what you’re actually trying to achieve.
Sometimes you’ll walk through the door knowing exactly what you want. Other times you might have a vague idea, a room that isn’t quite working, or simply too many options and no idea where to begin.

That’s where conversations like these come in.

Paul, Sonia and the rest of our team are here to explore ideas with you, show you possibilities you might not have considered and help turn what’s in your head into something that works beautifully in your home.

There’s no pressure to make a decision and no push towards something simply because it’s sitting on our showroom floor.
We’d much rather help you find what’s right for you.

Perhaps that’s why, more than 30 years after Chattels first opened its doors in Chester, we’re still welcoming back familiar faces as well as meeting new ones.

And we wouldn’t have it any other way.

A sofa designed around the way you actually live.
Meet Vesta by Furninova, one of the latest arrivals to our Chester showroom.

With its generous proportions, deeper seat and beautifully simple form, it manages to feel relaxed and inviting without losing that considered, structured look.

But what we particularly like about Vesta is just how flexible it can be.

It’s a modular design, which means we can help configure it around your room rather than expecting your room to work around the sofa.

A generous corner arrangement. An open lounging space. Something more compact. Different seat options. Even a folding backrest that lets you switch to a softer, more reclined position when it’s time to properly settle in.

And, of course, there’s a huge choice of fabrics and finishes to make it your own.
The version you see in our showroom is simply one possibility.

Come in, take a seat and let’s explore what yours could look like.
