All the parts we play… Hossain Sabzian reminding me of Tolstoy reminding me of Varda reminding me of the flowers of ourselves that can only be watered by others and then bloom all over again within ourselves… the theater of existence. Mao Ishikawa holds the sea in between her eyes. Thank you @miwasusuda for making me aware of her work all these years ago. Miwa Susuda will speak alongside Joan Kee, Yasufumi Nakamori, Pauline Vermare and Drew Sawyer about Ishikawa’s work across Japan and USA, and the importance of books and exhibitions to further an artist’s legacy.

The program is in conjunction with @alisonbradleyprojects ‘s show on Ishikawa up at the gallery in Chelsea through early June.

Considering Mao Ishikawa: A conversation is May 31 @whitneymuseum at 2PM

I adore Kim and her films, I am thankful Aslı put us on the same path. We are screening all of Kim Torres’ short films in celebration for the closing of her residency @at.magnet tonight in New York. Thank you @metrograph for hosting us for another program. I’ll talk with Kim about the light, about symptoms, about the invisible on screen and about how if inside our selves were to be a landscape, it would probably be a city.
