38 years. A new chapter…and a message I am so excited to share with you!

In John 5, a man had been at the pool of Bethesda for 38 years when Jesus told him to get up, pick up his mat, and walk. As I turn 38, I’m reflecting on what it means to move when Jesus calls and to live sent…not simply talking about what God has done, but allowing His work in our lives to lead us into purpose.

Life lately…

This has been one of the most unfamiliar years of my life…

I’m stewarding fresh territory, unexpected assignments, and new people, all while interweaving the commitments, people and spaces I’ve carried for years.

I’m also in the final stretch of completing my first book, and quietly stepping into the fullest version of myself yet.

So here I am, excited, yielded, present, and bringing you into this season with me while it’s still unfolding… by @chauncea

Although 2025 could be marked as a year of being hidden… …somehow, it was the year I was most seen.

Traditionally, I’m used to building while moving. Building in transit. Going deep fast because life required it.

This year asked something different. To go deep slowly. To build while planted.

That meant saying no to more international opportunities than I can count. Saying yes to more road trips I never planned. Letting people into my schedule, my rhythms and my real life in a much deeper way…where someone actually knows what’s in your closet because they see you several days a week, every week! lol …that may sound crazy to you, but there’s something even about those little things that feel very vulnerable.
…and although this absolutely wasn’t my plan for the year, The Lord knew better.

…and I’m so grateful for that.

However, I deeply missed this community. I missed sharing. The creative in me still chronicled almost everything. Some of it is finding its way to YouTube. Much of it stayed sacred. Both mattered.

In a world that equates authenticity with revealing everything, I’m thankful for the wisdom to choose a private training ground. For the freedom to discern when to step back and when to step forward.

…and yes, there were also contemplative, challenging, stretching moments this year. But God has remained faithful through them all!

So when I was recently asked how I’ve grown this year, the answer is…

I feel more like myself than I ever have. I feel settled. I feel whole. I feel clear.

If I had to sum up the theme of this season of my life, I’d say it’s been centered around becoming “built to last”.

Built to last through uncertainty, through pruning and through the kind of silence that tests whether your foundation was built on applause or assignment.

So, I’m grateful for the opportunity to pause. Grateful for His patience with me. Grateful for your patience with me and honestly, grateful for the grace to be hidden for a while…

So while I can’t make promises for what’s ahead, I can say I am beginning to feel a deep sense of readiness.

Thank you for the birthday love, for the prayers, and for journeying with me as I continue to become who God originally had in mind.

Last week, I was blindsided by a sudden wave of great overwhelm. I’ve always considered peace one of my closest companions so, I was genuinely surprised by how unexpectedly my entire work week was completely interrupted.

As many of us push through these final tasks, determined to “finish strong”, I wanted to share with you an internal checklist I reflected on this morning.

I have some exciting news to share with you…

✨I SIGNED MY FIRST BOOK DEAL! ✨

I have officially joined the @penguinrandomhouse and @waterbrookmultnomah family as a debut author!!

Fun Fact: With no desire to ever write a book before, on November 2, 2017 at 4:11am, I woke up after having a very vivid dream with this book concept.

This week marks 7 years since that dream so if you happen to be waiting for the fulfillment of promises, let me serve as a witness that we serve a faithful and loving Father who does not lie and cannot fail!

In light of all that is taking place politically, please rest confidently knowing that God is behind-the-scenes preparing messages, resources, solutions and His people for whatever lies ahead!

I would like to sincerely thank everyone who has helped make this possible. Whether through prayer, being a safe place for ideation or for those who have yoked themselves to this mission through collaboration, I could not have stepped into this fresh level of purpose without you.

I am excited to finally bring everyone along on the rest of the journey with me and I am humbled that I have been trusted to share such a timely message with the world!

It’s been a long road to get to this point and I am firmly committed to making sure no lesson I have learned will be waisted.

From working on an exciting rebrand, team building, moving, traveling, time in D.C., quality time with mentees and friends, meetings at congress; embracing the juggle of ministry and working in creative industries and so much in between — to say it’s been a busy season is an understatement!

I love the fruit that’s produced from privately building, hidden cultivation and precious time in the secret place!

Anywho, I feel like I missed a lot from you and would love an update! Did you move? New job or promotion? What’s your life been like lately? Please - fill me in! :) by @chauncea

As I reflect on this past year, I must admit, in many ways it’s been one of the most peculiar I have experienced.

Here’s two things I feel especially grateful for today:

1. To be firmly planted (in various ways).

2. To have a small circle of select people around me that although I haven’t achieved a knockout round just yet, they are right there beside me, applying Vaseline, giving me water, tightening my gloves and coaching me through every single round.

Here’s two things I am praying for as I enter this new season:

1. I am praying for fresh fuel and endurance to enable me for the next leg of my journey.

2. It is also my prayer that God extract everything that is not like Him and that He ignite and illuminate everything that is.

I realize year after year, I have shared my birthday with each of you so thank you for your continued support and patience as I stepped away for a bit.
