This is for my friend @rynia_sey ♥️♥️

For Seychelles, I wanted to capture the beauty of its islands through the Aldabra giant tortoise, the turquoise waters, and the movement of traditional island life. The Seychelles flag flows across the chest like the waves of the Indian Ocean, while the dance silhouettes celebrate the rhythm, culture and spirit of the islands.

(17/31) BURKINA FASO 🇧🇫

For Burkina Faso, I wanted to tell a story of breaking free from the shadows of the colonial era and looking towards a new chapter.

The hand emerging from within the flag represents strength, resistance and a people pushing forward, while the star shining through symbolises hope the light at the end of the tunnel.

A visual representation of a nation seeking to reclaim its identity, its direction and its future.

A celebration of Togo through colour, weaving and home. The flowing woven threads represent the country’s rich textile traditions, while the house brings in a sense of community, heritage and belonging.

From the ancient stone walls of Great Zimbabwe to the iconic Zimbabwe Bird, this piece brings together symbols of Zimbabwe’s history, heritage and living culture.

The stone walls represent Great Zimbabwe: an extraordinary pre-colonial African civilisation whose legacy continues to stand.

The Zimbabwe Bird connects the artwork to one of the country’s most powerful national symbols.

Beneath it, the mbira represents Zimbabwe’s musical heritage with the bird standing as if it is bringing the instrument to life.

And flowing around them are the colours of the Zimbabwean flag connecting the past with the Zimbabwe of today. 🇿🇼

Ancient roots. Living rhythm. A heritage that continues to speak.

Green hills, rich heritage, and a story of resilience.

For Rwanda, I drew inspiration from the country’s famous land of a thousand hills, its coffee heritage, and the beauty of its landscapes bringing them together on the living canvas.
