Adulting isn’t so bad after all. Spent the day nibbling, sipping and shopping my way through Padua, Italy. So many yummy places to stop and try. The seafood is heavenly! 10/10 highly recommend 🙌🏾 #diaryofaladychef taken in Padua, Italy by @chefdivine

15 years ago I was hustling plates at @power1051 Back when NY radio was running the city & social media was still a baby, I did craft services for a @myfabolouslife video as a subcontractor. I never got his direct info, but I knew his best friend was @djclue . Clue was a pivotal figure at Roc-A-Fella Records, bringing his Desert Storm mixtape brand to the mainstream. I knew he mixed at Power so I shot my shot in his DMs. Clue said, “Bring me a plate. Let me see if you really cooked for Fab.” I took that literally, 😅went up to @power1051 w/ a plate in my hand, begged security to let me in, they called Clue in the studio & he said, “Yeah, let her up.” That elevator ride changed my life. I walked into a world I’d only seen on TV—DJs, A&Rs, label reps, music blasting. It was electric. I knew I wanted to live in rooms like that. So every Friday for years I went back. At first, I brought Clue plates on me, just grateful to be in the room. Then I started hustling dinners to DJs + A&Rs until it turned into full-on catering for the station. That grind became the foundation of my career. Fast-forward to @djkhaled’s 50th. I walk in and bump straight into @djclue one of my first celebrity clients, & it all hits me—those Fridays turned into 2 decades of working w/ artists, athletes, & families across many stages and spaces. Then I saw @savvydavisjr from Arista, my late boyfriend @fatmanscoop’s brother, & the hug I got from him healed a piece of my heart I didn’t even know was still cracked open. 🕊️ Honestly, to be in that room & hear, “She’s a chef. She shows us mad love. We appreciate her.” From @djkhaled to his wife….That was bigger than a party. That was God reminding me I am exactly where I’m supposed to be & Ngl, I sobbed 🥹. I’m grateful for every thread in this story: @djclue for opening the door, @myfabolouslife for being the catalyst, @savvydavisjr & @fatmanscoop forever ♾️, @djkhaled, @therealnictuc, @wethebest, @rocnation, @kodaklens and everyone who’s ever said my name in rooms I wasn’t in yet. Grateful for the rooms, the risks, & the people who believed in me before the world knew “Chef Divine” The sky is still the limit. In Jesus’ Name 🙏 taken in Miami, Florida by @chefdivine

Successfully, taste tested my way through another year! I honestly thought my curry powder had burned a bit too much. Had to check before I added my chicken lol. I had a blast with my cooking class students! Check out @chefdivineandco to see a recap of this in home Carib Cooking Class!
