Hey my peoples! I’ve got some very exciting news…my debut cookbook “Down South + East” is now available for pre sales. This book has 100 recipes that reflect who I am, where I’ve been, my cooking influences and my life in general.
•
My talented co-author and chef friend @hughamano perfectly describes it as “Asian-influenced dishes via the rich larder of the American South” and @rinneallen has provided some amazing photos of my food that captures the soul and southern hospitality of each recipe beautifully, such as buttermilk fried chicken drizzled with Chinese chili crisp you’ll find on the cover. Plus the legend himself and one of the most iconic chefs of all time, and my mentor @ericripert wrote the foreword.

Thanks to chef @chefjihyekim and her whole team for being such a gracious host and the amazing collab. #detroit and #annarbor were cool cities with lots of great food and people. I got my Detroit style pizza as well as “real” Chicago tavern style pizza and finally got to try @misskimannarbor’s amazing food. by @chefhsu

Miss Kim was our very first account in Michigan ❤️ and I first enjoyed Chef Ji Hye’s cooking during her pop-up at Hana in Brooklyn! After so many years, it was such a treat to finally join her and Nick around the table in Ann Arbor.

As if that wasn’t enough, we also had the chance to experience a few dishes from Chef Ron Hsu’s new cookbook, Down South + East. The pimento cheese wontons and char siu ribs alone… my god 😋

Along the way we met so many new friends and incredible independent businesses - spending hours nerding out over fermentation and Korean sool.

Huge thank you to the M4 team for bringing Hana Makgeolli to even more shelves across the state! We’re excited to now be at Arbor Farms, Westborn Market, and more locations soon 🙏

Atlanta's best chefs are coming together for a community potluck in support of those impacted by the earthquakes in Venezuela. Tickets are $50 and include a full plate from the buffet. 100% of ticket proceeds will be donated to @wckitchen.

🍗 @hermanita_atl will NOT be popping up tomorrow night, but the team will be cooking alongside everyone else at the fundraiser.
🎟️ Your ticket is valid for entry any time between 5 and 9pm. We'll have plenty of food waiting for you.

Chef’s menu just dropped for our cookbook dinner with Michelin Star Chef Ron Hsu! 🎉

Wednesday, July 22. Four courses out of Down South + East, Southern ingredients running straight into Chinese flavors:

• Grilled Okra, Persimmon, Arugula and Pecan Salad with Mala Oil
• Grilled Rainbow Trout / Fish Stew with Black-eyed Peas
• Grilled Mandarin Beef Short Ribs with Five-spice Glazed Baby Carrots and Rice
• Fried Bananas with Char Siu Caramel Ice Cream

Chef Noelle and the crew are cooking it family style, one seating at 6:30, with Ron in the house.

And yes, every ticket comes with a copy of the book to take home.
