I know you probably expected this caption to be about me explaining the dessert ,but no, it’s actually about something completely different. 😂

One of the best things I’ve done for myself this year is to intentionally attempt the difficult things; the things I’ve always been scared to do.

And pastry has definitely been one of them.

As a cuisine chef, stepping into pastry has stretched me in ways I didn’t expect. The precision, the attention to details, ,everything is just different. And honestly, it has challenged me, HUMBLED me, and pushed me to grow in so many ways.

Looking back at the past few months, I’m genuinely so happy with the growth I’ve experienced.

I’m not trying to sound like a motivational speaker here, I’m simply sharing my reality. I’ve attempted several things this year that I was afraid of, and every single time, I’ve been reminded that what’s on the other side of fear can be mind-blowing.

So, if there’s something you’ve been telling yourself you can’t do, maybe give it a try.
With that being said, Happy New Month 😊

May October be kind to us and bring us so many reasons to be grateful.

One thing the Holy Spirit has taught me deeply this year is this: anything that was developed by man can be learned by man(that’s exactly how he put it)

And honestly, I’ve had to confront so many limitations I’ve placed on myself simply because I told myself, “I can’t do that.”

I almost did the same thing when I got the opportunity to step into a pastry chef role.

Anyone who knows me knows I love being in the hot kitchen, creating as I go and just trusting my instincts. Pastry felt different. More precise. More technical. And my first instinct was to tell myself, “This isn’t really my thing.”
But the Holy Spirit prompted me to take the opportunity anyway.

Has it been easy? Absolutely not.

But being able to do it, to learn, to improve, to figure things out along the way has expanded my mind in ways I didn’t expect.
More than ever, I understand that the next level I experience is often determined by the limits I’m willing to stop placing on myself.

And now, I’m even more encouraged to take on things that scare me, things I don’t immediately feel qualified for, things I once convinced myself weren’t “for me.”

So this is your reminder too
That thing you’re scared to do?
That thing you keep telling yourself you can’t do?
That thing you think is beyond you?

Please, just do it.

Happy birthday, Sade baby.

Yes, I’m not going to say “posthumous,” because to me, it’s like you never left. I have so many memories to hold on to. Thank God for technology, because I can still listen to your voice whenever I want through the voice notes we shared. Hearing your voice still brings you close to me.

Afolasade, you were just the perfect mother. You were kind. You didn’t just teach us things, you led by example. You showed us how to love, how to give, how to care, and how to live.
Mummy, you lived for a short while , but the impact you made is long-lasting. Your life continues to speak, and your love continues to live through us.

I miss you so much. I miss you more every day. But I don’t think we could ever love you more than Jesus does. That’s why I believe He had to bring you over to Him and I find comfort in knowing that you are with Him. I hope he allows you read this during your screen time😌

And to everyone who thinks I just love taking pictures, now you know where it came from.
I’m so grateful for all the time we had together and for the memories we made.
Mummy, on your birthday, I can already imagine how you would have been trying so hard to figure out how we were going to surprise you, because, in your defence, “no one can catch you by surprise.” , but we always did.
I miss you so much, Mummy. More than words can ever explain.

One thing I decided to do for myself this year was to be audacious.

To push myself. To dream bigger. To see just how far I could actually take this life I’ve been given.

And somewhere along the way, I realised that as much as I was willing to push myself, I didn’t have to do it alone.
That’s when I signed up for Launchpad by @theglobaltemi .
And honestly? It has changed my life in ways I didn’t expect.

From the moment I joined the class until now, I’ve watched different areas of my life take a completely different turn. I’ve grown, stretched, questioned myself, taken bigger steps, and, most importantly, started seeing possibilities in myself that I probably wouldn’t have seen before.

Thank you @theglobaltemi, for creating a space that challenges people to become more, for showing up, for pouring into us, and for reminding me that I’m capable of more than I sometimes give myself credit for.

And because I know another @thegrowtribe cohort is coming up very soon, I just want to say this to anyone who has been wondering if they should take that step:

Be audacious enough to bet on yourself. And when you realise you need support, allow yourself to receive it.
