There are sometimes you have to say yes to rooms that shift the future.

Honored to share that I’ve joined the ASU+GSV HBCU Partnership Advisory Board — working to expand access, innovation, and opportunity for HBCU students nationwide.

This isn’t about a title.
It’s about impact.
It’s about making sure our scholars are in the rooms where technology, capital, and policy are shaping tomorrow.

Grateful to serve alongside leaders who are committed to building real pathways — not just conversations.

The work continues. And I’m just getting started.

ASU+GSV Summit 2025: Leading with Legacy, Innovation & Intention

4 days.
1 mission.
Legacy in motion.

I came to San Diego as a speaker, awardee, founder, mom, and unapologetically brilliant humanitarian at the intersection of XR, AI and education…and I left with my cup full. Let me break it down:

Day 1:
Scouted the AI Show floor for my workshop.
Cameron & I demoed coding tech.
Seth found me on the Wall of Fame as a 2025 Leading Woman in AI—his smile said it all.

Day 2:
Hosted a packed workshop on AI Teaching Assistants.
Honored during the AI Show keynote.
My husband and sons were front row as I stood boldly repping Metaverse United.
Cameron whispered, “Mom, you’re a rockstar.”

Day 3:
Started with a powerful Ladies Luncheon at the Yacht Club with Deborah Quazzo.
Then straight to the WGU Primetime Stage with some of the brightest minds in Higher Ed AI:
Svenn Schutt, Courtney Hills McBeth, Sheri Ranis, moderated by Phil Hill.

Day 4:
On stage again with leaders from MIT, Meta, Dreamscape Learn & Cengage—exploring XR, Gaming, and AI as new computing paradigms.
Ended it all with karaoke + a Sugarhill Gang concert—because real networking never sleeps.

But the real flex?

Being part of the inaugural HBCU Partnership led by the incredible Tiffany Taylor.

Three Metaversity ambassadors—Jakylan, Juan & Ikenna—received $6,500 GSV Ventures scholarships to learn, network & grow.

They were surrounded by a curated community of excellence—and they represented.

This week wasn’t just about being seen.
It was about bringing others with me, lifting while I climb, and showing the world that Black women in AI belong.

We’re not done. We’re just getting started.

How do you help students understand a world they cannot see? 🧪

That question has shaped my work as a chemistry professor and inspired me to create Morehouse Metaversity. Molecular geometry and stereochemistry require students to think spatially, imagine structures, and understand how those structures influence reactions.

I was part of ChatGPT Pro Community testing for Intelligent UI, and the experience was fruitful for me as a professor and an academic. Being able to explore visuals, quiz yourself, and interact with simulations within a chat opens up exciting possibilities for studying challenging concepts.

The interface is spectacular. What excites me most is how it could help students move from reading about a molecule to seeing and exploring its geometry, asking better questions, and checking their understanding.

Morehouse College's Academic Innovation and Learning kicked October off with a bang!

This was the Innovation Exchange, a robust conversation amongst colleagues from across the campus hosted by Dr. Juana Mendenhall.

There was lunch and rich discussions about the future of the college, how to hold space for student needs, partnerships and collaborations and how to honor one another's gifts and talents. It was just what we needed as we hit midterms. I can't wait for the next one!

The power of AI has saved me hours of toiling over 3D asset generation. Watch ChatGPT work generate 3D assets that I can import into our digital twin of Morehouse on VXR Labs!!! This is magical for someone who has been generating 3D objects to print since 2017. The countless hours of editing objects done in 1 minutes. This is amazing!
