Happiest five year wedding anniversary, my love.

It’s hard to believe it’s already been five years. Our relationship has grown so much from the day I said “yes,” to the day we said “I do,” and through every moment since.

You continue to challenge me, teach me, and love me, while also giving me the space to grow and learn on my own. I can’t say every day has been perfect, but I can say that choosing you is a decision I have never once regretted.

With every new challenge we face, our love continues to grow alongside us. I’m so grateful to be your wife, and I can’t wait to see where life takes us and how we continue to thrive together in the years ahead.

I love you to the moon and back. ❤️ @cheng_chain_chain by @cheng_chain_chain

Happy Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month & Hmong American Day (May 14, a week late)!
.
Look at the beautiful cast of Asian Americans! These are the amazing dancers that I will be working with for my short dance film project, “Footprints Under the Mekong.” We have been working hard since April to get this piece together and completed. Though we aren’t finished yet, I wanted to do a mid-process update! We will have more exciting updates throughout this process until our video shoot day in August!
.
Shoutout to my collaborators,
1. Kayla Vang for holding deep discussions towards this process this far.
2. Jack GV Vang for agreeing to be my videographer and cinematic creator!
.
Lastly, shouting out to my newest collaborator, the amazing, Alina Xiong!
.
Alina Xiong is a cellist and singer, originally from Wisconsin, who loves to use music to foster creativity, exploration, and storytelling. She uses her ears and heart to blend her Hmong roots with pop influences through an organic process that celebrates imperfection. As a musician, her only goal is to have fun.

Team “Polarity” 2.0!
.
To witness these amazing students perform this piece has been nothing but an absolute honor and pleasure! They performed it beautifully, rigorously, and effortlessly.
.
Again, I cannot thank this dance program enough for inviting me to be a guest artist for their dance students.
.
If yah missed it, unfortunately yah missed out because these students at University State Mankato killed it at this year’s Spring Concert!
.
To the students: I cannot thank yah enough for giving your fullest respect and trust in me. Your willingness to grow and ability to push yourself to a whole new level has made this experience all that a choreographer can ask for. Much love and respect to you all!

Shoutout to my MC boys @phillipcheethao and @rich2thevang (not in pic) from @enthusiastsdomain for bringing the exterior of Silvie back to life with a paint correction and ceramic coating!

She now shines fuller and brighter than ever, which she probably hasn’t for a very very long time, especially for being a 1992 vehicle!

If you need any interior or exterior work, or just any cleaning/detailing work done on your car, reach out to them! I promise you will not be disappointed!

FUN FACT!
We 3 here are Hmong BA/BFA dance major graduates from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities from 2014-2018! We got Pheng Yang (left), Itly Thayieng (center), and then me. We are only missing @magnoliaysy and @yangchee.yang, totaling 5 of us! They both are out and about doing amazing things post graduation!
.
It only took about a decade, but us three were able to gather after rehearsing for my Hmong film project.
.
Though our paths have taken its own course, it truly is exciting to regathered once again! Also, it is important the Hmong community knows that there are small number of us who chased our dreams by pursing dance and performing arts in a collegia setting!
.
Be on the look out for our Hmong film project updates with the amazing team that I have brought together!

Huge shoutout to my friends from Minnesota State University, Mankato, Yukina Sato and Daniel Stark, for having me come in as a guest artist to teach and choreograph a piece for the dance majors. What an honor it is to be given this opportunity! I am super lucky to have such an amazing group of students to represent my work.
.
Week 1 done! I’ll be back next weekend for Week 2!
.
If anyone wants to road trip with me, the student showcase will be April 30, May 1, and May 2 in Mankato!
