I’ve always loved David Hockney’s work and in 2022 I was moved to tears by this print (slide 1 “A Diver”) as I sat in a room in Cedars to begin my journey to quit smoking. I had just completed the Fagerstrom Test for Nicotine Dependence and saw in black & white how addicted I was to nicotine. As I waited for the Dr I looked up & saw this print on the wall. I burst into tears. I had to jump in - dive in head first - would I sink or would I make it to the other side? The room was spinning and all I could do was focus on the print. The irony is that he was known to chain smoke constantly. I get it. I didn’t quit that day but I did eventually. Thank you for all your colorful works of life - the pools, the portraits, the landscapes, the drive along Mulholland. I will always be fascinated by you and the colorful world you left behind. ♥️💚💙💛🩵🕊️ by @cheriestuff

Night at the museum @lacma David Geffen Galleries. The staircase beckons… I love the ascent to the winding flow, the nooks, the works, the light, the shadows, the views. I can’t wait to take my walks around the open areas (I’ll be searching for the outdoor Donald Judd pieces - see slide 9). 2016: Saint Laurent platforms & chucks on heavy rotation. I smoked a lot. The Standard. I loved her college breaks in NY & LA. Bikinis. I had the best walk-in closet ever. House of Blues. Loved my Camaro. I picked up a skate board again then dropped it like a hot potato when I broke both elbows. I don’t think I’ve worn that vintage Pucci since 2016 but I’ve def worn that leather choker. Obsessed with Baldessari at Spruth Magers & Hedi for Saint Laurent at the Palladium (I still kick myself that I didn’t buy something from that collection). I went to so many great concerts - see stories. Malibu (rip La Costa). 8 crazy nights. Bowie forever. 😎 by @cheriestuff

These pictures were taken in France & Belgium half my life ago. Today I’m decades older & maybe just a little bit wiser. Here are a few nuggets I’ve gathered along the way: stay in today, leave it better than I found it, do unto others…, bigger isn’t always better, less is more (except Diet Coke), be kind to everyone always & be thankful for what you got, you can’t take it with you but you can enjoy it all while you’re here. The great out doors, friends & family, love & laughter, art, music & muscle cars are life and I finally realized that smoking cigs is eww, health is wealth and you can have too many shoes. 💁‍♀️🎂 by @cheriestuff
