The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce & Tourism was so excited to be part of the City of Centre’s 50th Annual Fall Festival! What an incredible milestone and what a fabulous event!

From the amazing turnout and great vendors to the food, activities, entertainment and all the community spirit, it was such a fun day celebrating 50 years of Fall Festival memories in Centre! ❤️

🌊🚣‍♀️ What a night at Weiss Lake! 🚣‍♂️🌊

The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce & Tourism was thrilled to host the Alabama Great 650 staff, racers and their teams for a dinner and kickoff ceremony Friday evening as they prepared for one incredible adventure!

The AL650 brings together paddlers from all over the world — and we were honored to welcome racers representing countries including Estonia, Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada and New Zealand, along with racers from Hawaii, Alaska and several other states across the U.S. — including right here in our home state of Alabama! 🌎🇺🇸

There was plenty of excitement, anticipation and fellowship as everyone gathered at beautiful Weiss Lake before the race officially got underway Saturday morning at 10 AM. What an incredible way to showcase our community, our lake and the outdoor adventure that makes Cherokee County such a special place! ❤️

And now the race is ON! 🚣‍♂️💨

The latest update from the AL650 team reports that after the first 48 hours, 18 boats remain as racers continue their incredible journey, making their way through Wetumpka and Montgomery and heading farther south!

We are so excited to be a small part of this amazing event and wish EVERY racer and team the very best as they continue their journey. We’ll be cheering you on all the way! 👏🔥

Yesterday we had the privilege of welcoming an amazing group of kids to Weiss Lake for C.A.S.T. for Kids — Catch A Special Thrill! Once again, we gathered at Jake’s On The Lake, and it was truly a day filled with fishing, fun, smiles, and memories that will last a lifetime! 🐟☀️

The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce & Tourism is honored to partner with the Cherokee County Board of Education to bring C.A.S.T. for Kids to Weiss Lake each year. This is one of those events that reminds us just how special our community is when we all come together. ❤️

☕✂️ What a wonderful morning in Cherokee County! 💙

A huge THANK YOU to Atrium Health Floyd Cherokee Medical Center for hosting the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce & Tourism for our Chamber Breakfast this morning! The food was fantastic, and we truly appreciate the entire Atrium team for making us feel so welcome. 👏

After breakfast, we were excited to head across the street for a ribbon cutting at the Atrium Health Floyd Cherokee Rural Health Clinic to celebrate and officially welcome Dr. Erica Barnes, MD, and Dr. Paris Cooke, MD! 🎉👩‍⚕️👩‍⚕️
