Shout-out to the several artists from Alabama who exhibited their work at this summer’s Cherry Creek Arts Festival, including Chris Cumbie, who turns discarded objects into art. His mixed-media creations are the result of hand carving, painting, welding, illustration, whittling, assemblage, sculpting, and wood burning. See more at @ChrisCumbieArt. 🍒🎨❤️

Valerie Walchek creates original ceramic pieces that explore “how hope changes our perspective despite our circumstances.” We love that notion, and we love learning what drives artists to create. See more of Valerie’s work at littlewolfceramics.com. 🍒🎨❤️

We hope you’ve all had an excellent Dolly Day! Here are a few photos from educator night at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science earlier this week, where we brought our screen-printing Mobile Art Cart and helped 200 educators create their own tote bag featuring a new Dolly Parton design. (#DollyForever) We love this annual event, and we love how excited the educators get to create with us. We especially love hearing from the ones who’ve collected Art Cart bags from over the years.

“Growing up in the film age was a blessing. Learning how to expose scenes manually using basic daylight exposure and memorizing other important foundational and fundamental techniques helps me to this day. When people approach me, eager to learn about photography and ask for recommendations on what camera to buy, they are often surprised by my response. I tell them to get a film camera capable of taking manual exposures. This method teaches you a great deal about how light behaves in photography.”

—Patrick Brandenburg, one of this year’s first-time exhibitors at the 2026 Cherry Creek Arts Festival

Sarah Boston is a self-taught artist whose work is deeply rooted in the spirit and traditions of the American West. Originally from Great Falls, Montana, now based in Crested Butte, Colorado, Sarah developed an early admiration for Western art and storytelling, an influence that continues to shape her artistic vision more than two decades into her career. Sarah presented her work at the Cherry Creek Arts Festival for the first time this summer. We’re thrilled she was here! 🍒🎨❤️
