Happy Halloween! Here's a painting by Richmond based designer and painter Ben Cochran (@ben.indd). Taking elements from the true crime genre, which is often just copaganda, this piece focuses more on the forensic science side of true crime, something that greatly interests him.

Noah Hook (@_noahhook_) is an interdisciplinary artist based in Richmond, Virginia. Through painting he is exploring the ways pride and shame, privilege and disempowerment, growth and stagnancy, and faith and fear intertwine to affect people, populations, and the places they inhabit. Subjects such as whiteness, masculinity, sexuality, poverty, heritage, pollution, and violence are at the forefront of his analysis.

Shayn Jackson (@shaynja) is a digital designer and fine artist based out of Manhattan, attending the Parsons School of Design. This piece, “Street Corner Room” focuses on how solitude leads us to reflect, observe, and look inward; turning a moment alone on a park bench into a world separate from that of those around us. Stuck in his room and missing the world, Shayn began this exploration to bring these spaces into his own room.

As a Bosnian-American artist, her photography deals with ideas of alienation, belonging, and personal history. The act of image making becomes a chance to come to terms with the memories of physical disorientation and how environment can transform one’s identity.
