Spent this past weekend at @thewellwomencollective Women’s Gathering. Picked up a few 💎

1. Running my race is a daily act of depending on the Lord + hitting the pavement (actually doing what He told me to do). Comparison is a distraction - my sister’s assignment is not my lane and vice versa.

2. Sisterhood is invaluable. Thanks @rukaybee and Ntiense for the most perfect girls’ weekend!!

3. Humility =/= timidity. Sometimes we downplay our God-given gifts for the sake of ”humility”. Tbh it’s pride. How dare I count myself out when God gave me an assignment AND equipped me for it?? (Btw all the speakers boldly snatched my edges. Currently reapplying jojoba oil.)

Earlier this fall, I visited Europe for the first time. First stop: the Netherlands.

Some BTS from my birthday shoot-

I decided last minute to do a shoot and my cousins rose to the occasion. So, we went the DIY route.

The dress? I had this SHEIN dress in my closet and ordered the tulle skirt on Amazon for extra drama.

The spotlight? A toilet paper roll and a flashlight.

Sometimes restriction births creativity. I’m proud of how we executed this in such a short amount of time.

[Also, if you still see me posting pics from this shoot weeks after my birthday, allow me. I’m getting the hang of Lightroom and I’m celebrating my birthday all year.]

30.

To be honest, I welcomed 30 with mixed feelings. Joyful for a new decade. Sad that I don’t qualify for 30 under 30 lists anymore. Pressured because of the deadlines I’ve set for myself.

Even in the midst of conflicting feelings, one word stood out as I reflected: grateful.

I’m grateful to God for this new year and His faithfulness throughout the past 29. He’s truly good.

Grateful for godly community, friends and my family. I’ve gained a ton of fam in the past decade. (Something I prayed for.)

Grateful for my growth. I was a girl who didn’t love herself in her teens. Now I’m (willingly) on camera at church and planning birthday photo shoots every year 😂 That’s growth.

Anyway, all glory be to God. Happy 30th to me ❤️
