hello 2026. day 2.

Last year, I had a conversation with Jeremiah Johnson that marked me. He wrote a book called the Warrior Bride, and on the cover is a photo of a woman from her waist down in a wedding dress and combat boots.

Between his prophetic words spoken over me and the imagery of this bride, clothed for covenant and conflict, something in my spirit woke up! A reminder that the Kingdom is not advanced from the sidelines. That faith was never meant to be passive.

It was a call to remember who we are.

A people betrothed to Christ, AND trained for battle.
A bride who knows how to worship AND war.
A generation called not to retreat, but to reclaim what’s been surrendered to fear, silence, and compromise.

So I recreated the image.

Not for aesthetics, but as a “stone of remembrance”.
A witness.
A declaration.

This is me saying yes.
Yes to the assignment.
Yes to obedience.
Yes to Taking Back Ground.

Boots on.
Backpack loaded.

Twenty-four.

There aren’t enough words to express how proud I am of the woman you’re becoming.

I’ve had the challenge & privilege of watching you fight through some of the hardest years of your life. There were nights I lost sleep, tears I cried when you couldn’t see a way through, and countless prayers whispered on your behalf. As your marmy, there were moments I wished I could carry your pain for you.

But instead, I got to witness something even more beautiful: I watched you survive. I watched you heal.
I watched you keep getting back up.

You didn’t allow your hardest seasons to define you. You let them refine you. Your strength hasn’t been loud or flashy, it’s steady, resilient, and deeply rooted. You have become a woman of compassion, courage, wisdom, and unwavering determination.

You’re an overcomer, sweet girl! (Queue Mandisa, forever!)

The woman you are today didn’t happen by accident. She was forged through the fires of perseverance, faith, and a refusal to quit.

Watching you become who you are has been one of the greatest privileges of my life, and I hope you never forget how incredibly loved, admired, and celebrated you are.

Happy 24, sweet girl . The world is better because you’re in it, and I can’t wait to see what this next chapter holds. I love you more than words could ever say. 🤍

Hello 2026. Day 192.

4th of July this year consisted of a 13-hour roadtrip with our grandbabies out to the cabin in Wyoming.

In a lot of ways, it was just like old times with our kids.

Snacks, games and books on the car ride. Horses, four wheelers and homemade ice cream at the cabin.

In a lot of other ways, it was a painful reminder that we are no longer 25-year-olds. 😆

So it’s day 167 and I haven’t posted since day 152.
Your girl just needed a break…
Life has been a lot. The world…also a lot. And sometimes you just have to shut it all down for a minute.

Disconnect.

Not to disassociate or pretend like things aren’t what they are. But to give your nervous system some time to breathe, to decompress. Disconnecting for the purpose of reconnecting, hopefully in a healthier, and more meaningful way.

One of the things I reconnected with during this pause was a reminder about the significance of stories. That they are one of the most powerful ways God connects us himself and to the world around us.

If we’ve been journeying together this year, you’ll remember that I recently shared about seven defining moments in the past seven years that God was/is speaking through. Seven stories that I never could’ve written on my own. Seven moments that were seemingly disconnected as they were unfolding, but have now captivated me with their blatant and undeniable connections. Seven moments that unexpectedly propelled me into purpose.

One of those moments was the Mary’s Home story, which I shared before my break. (You can find it on this feed if you’re interested in hearing it).

A takeaway from chapter 1…
Can we just talk about how the following quote was written in 1980?

“One aspect of world that I have been able to identify as harmful to Christians is the assumption that anything worthwhile could be acquired at once. We assume that if something can be done at all, it can be done quickly and efficiently. Our attention spans have been conditioned by 30 second commercials. Our sense of reality has been flattened by 30 page abridgments.”
