Today we’re celebrating how far @child_of_project has come and the amazing people we have the pleasure of working with.

Here is a moment captured by @_ashleighdavisx , an incredibly inspiring woman, artist and Child Of workshop facilitator, arrived in Leicester to run a workshop for The Housing Network.

I’ve worked with Ashleigh for a couple of years and witnessed her strength and resilience throughout recovery.

Through our mentorship circle I’ve seen her step into her power and flourish, she taps into lived experience with grace to help others who sit in a place she recognises.

I’m so incredibly grateful and proud of the journey we are travelling together … and that’s miles and miles, up and down the M1 !!

So today, in a world where bad news it around every corner, whats#’s one thing you are grateful for ?

“We run programmes in Hemel Hempstead, London and the Midlands, but we have yet to find a home in Hitchin. Apothecary House could be that home.”

Sam D’Cruze is a socially engaged artist and the founder of Child Of Project C.I.C., which uses creativity to support people affected by addiction and recovery. Her work has been shown at the Saatchi Gallery in Homelessness | Reframed, and Child Of Project has backing from Hertfordshire County Council for a three-year mentorship programme.

She lives in Hitchin and would use the old museum herself, and bring her work to it.

This is what a community space is for: giving local organisations like Child Of a home in the town they serve.

This evening literally made my week … congratulations @thepeoplesrecoveryproject @aleshcompton and @sasha_aylwen and every single artist who took part in the exhibition, fashion show and entertainment ..,a truly inspiring evening.

So cool to see the results from our printing making workshop on the walls and printed on T-shirts.

You can see the exhibition at @houseofannetta over the next couple of weeks… it’s well worth it.

What an absolute joy to work with a new cohort of incredible artists at @cgl_barnet !!!

These artworks are from CGL’s second round of Blank Canvas, a ten week, step by step approach to portraiture, and we couldn’t be more proud 🙌🏻

Thank you so much to the artist who showed up, stepped out their comfort zone and created unique pieces of work.

In recovery and art making, trust the process… that’s where the magic lives.

We’re absolutely over the moon to be part of @streetstories_uk in Hemel Hempstead, an inspiring project to simultaneously celebrate local artists and bring colour and energy to the high street.

Brought to life by @archcreative and @hemel_hempstead_bid , the amount of work behind the scenes didn’t go unnoticed…

@micheleherbertsart worked with @cocooncharity and @saferplacesuk women to produce a hand-stitched banner describing their journey to and around Hemel.

‘It was meant to be a pit stop’, inspired by @traceyeminstudio ‘s textile work, was Michele’s first time leading a coproduction project .. and she smashed it. Using the same single bed sheet Michele was given when entering the refuge two years prior, this piece of work proves the power of creativity as recovery.

The window front display also included work by our awesome artist @_ashleighdavisx @_rossr16 , Sarah and S … all skilled and inspiring pieces of art.

It was also really cool to be amongst friends @bigdaydoodles … great to see you!

Thank you so much @streetstories_uk @archcreative @hemel_hempstead_bid … this opportunity allows us to be seen.

We’re half way into our second Blank Canvas program at @changegrowliveuk in Hendon … and the excitement is building !

Over ten weeks confidence is built through low risk, high reward exercises, to more challenging and thought provoking methods …. resulting in a layered portrait that no one would imagine doing at the start of the project.

We’re just over half way and starting to see what can be achieved 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Yesterday we had the pleasure of working with @thepeoplesrecoveryproject at the very cool @houseofannetta, just off Brick Lane, and it was magic ✨!!

Working alongside @sasha_aylwen and @aleshcompton , we spent a wonderful four hours printmaking. Inspired by artistic activism and thinking about slogan shirts for their up and coming fashion show, the day was productive and fun.

Amazing work by clients @cocooncharity during our full day session last week.

We looked at Peruvian Artist Cecilia Paredes, and thought about camouflage, fading into the background and masking.
