“We run programmes in Hemel Hempstead, London and the Midlands, but we have yet to find a home in Hitchin. Apothecary House could be that home.”

Sam D’Cruze is a socially engaged artist and the founder of Child Of Project C.I.C., which uses creativity to support people affected by addiction and recovery. Her work has been shown at the Saatchi Gallery in Homelessness | Reframed, and Child Of Project has backing from Hertfordshire County Council for a three-year mentorship programme.

She lives in Hitchin and would use the old museum herself, and bring her work to it.

This is what a community space is for: giving local organisations like Child Of a home in the town they serve.

Please sign the petition before we submit to the council on Monday 19 October. Link in bio.

Excellent couple of days …

@billychildish_for_it_is_he at @carlfreedmangallery did not disappoint … well worth a visit, and after my ‘grammatically incorrect’ post last week, ‘the uncorrected’, poems by Billy Childish, really did it for me.

emotional truth is a lie of all art
and
all poetry

dont give me your bull
about emotional truth
go fuck your emotional truth
this
is truthful emotion

Billy Childish

Birchington-on-Sea … a beautiful place

1984 Esterel … the cutest caravan, home from home

Discovered the work of Solomon Joseph Solomon via his dilapidated studio … eerie and inspiring

Margate … buzzing and winning, the most multicultural, creative and inclusive British seaside town 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Child Of junkies … Merch in store now, all profits go to @child_of_project art intervention within the recovery community. 🖤 Spread the Love 🖤

🌍 on World Mental Health Day 🌍
Don’t miss this beautiful film – A Want in Her by @myrid_carten .. an evocative portrayal of a daughter’s experience of living with a mother who struggles with bipolar disorder and alcohol dependence.

So often, the stories of those affected by a loved one’s ill health are overlooked, and this film brings that perspective to light with honesty and compassion.

I had the privilege of attending Myrid’s Q&A and screening @kilntheatre last Saturday. Her courage and artistry as a filmmaker are truly commendable. 🎬✨
Don’t miss this extraordinary film ❤️

Very proud to be a part of this. I'll be playing a 2-hour set and then sleeping rough for the night to raise money for this wonderful charity. You can find the donation link in my bio. I would be grateful for contributions big or small.
