❤️ PROJECT SPOTLIGHT | Electrophysiology Lab Renovation

Some of the most challenging parts of a healthcare renovation happen well beyond what patients ever see.

For this Electrophysiology Lab project, Childers completely demolished existing operating rooms and associated pre- and post-operative and administrative areas to create two new EP Heart Catheterization Labs.

One of the most unique aspects of the project was the structural work required to support the highly specialized medical equipment. More than 3,000 square feet of the existing roof was raised approximately four feet so additional structural support could be installed to carry the new equipment loads.

The result was a highly specialized clinical environment designed to support advanced cardiac procedures — combining complex structural modifications, healthcare construction expertise, and careful coordination within an active medical facility.

We’re proud of the work behind the walls — and above the ceiling — that helps make advanced patient care possible. @tallahasseememorialfoundation @tallahasseememorial @huntonbrady

🔙 THROWBACK THURSDAY | ECTC Welding & HVAC Lab 🔧🔥

Today we’re looking back at the Emerald Coast Technical College Welding & HVAC Lab, completed for Walton County School District!

This approximately 7,700-square-foot career and technical education facility was designed to give students hands-on experience in two high-demand skilled trades. The project included a dedicated 20-station welding lab, HVAC instructional space and supporting areas designed around real-world training.

Projects like this are especially rewarding because the spaces we build become places where students develop the skills, confidence and experience to begin successful careers in the trades.

We’re proud to have played a part in creating an environment where the next generation of skilled professionals gets its start. @waltonedfoundation @waltoncountysd @jraarchitectsinc

Welcome back, Griffin teachers and staff! 🍎📚✨

Yesterday, the Childers crew had the pleasure of helping decorate the teachers’ lounge with snacks, drinks, and supplies to kick off the new school year. It was a small way to show our appreciation for the incredible educators and staff who pour so much into their students every single day.

A special thank-you to everyone who generously donated items and helped make this welcome-back surprise possible!

We’re grateful for the opportunity to support the amazing team at Griffin and help make the start of the school year a little more special. Wishing all of the teachers and staff a wonderful, successful, and rewarding year ahead!

From all of us at Childers — thank you for all you do! @leoncountyschools

Last Friday, we treated the hardworking crew at FSU’s Broward Hall to lunch as a small thank-you for their dedication throughout the summer!

The team has been working hard to replace the residence hall’s entire HVAC system, tackling a major renovation on a tight summer schedule. Some crew members even worked through lunch to keep the project moving toward the finish line—so we made sure their meals were ready when they could take a break.

We appreciate every member of the team for their commitment, teamwork and determination to get the job done! 🔧🏗️ @fsufacilities

This year, Childers Construction is proud to support the amazing teachers and staff at Griffin Middle School! As our team continues work on the new gymnasium and celebrates the completion of the new cafetorium, we wanted to give back in a meaningful way by helping stock the teachers’ lounge and provide much-needed classroom supplies for the new school year.

From July 20–31, we’re collecting prepackaged snacks, drinks, and school supplies to support the incredible educators and staff who make a difference every day.

Drop-off Location:
Childers Construction Office

Let’s show our Griffin pride and come together to support the people who invest so much in our students and community. Thank you in advance to our employees, subcontractors, and friends for helping us make a big impact! @leoncountyschools @architects_lw

☀️ Summer break means construction season at FSU!

With campus activity lighter, our team is making great progress on the Collins Building Envelope Repair and Window Replacement Project. Crews are carefully removing and replacing the building’s window systems while completing critical envelope repairs designed to improve weather protection, performance, and long-term durability.

It is all part of the behind-the-scenes work happening this summer to prepare the Collins Building for the return of students this fall. Another great project moving forward at Florida State University! @fsufacilities @mld_architects
