Emma • Age 11 • Petal, MS
Emma’s journey at Children’s of Mississippi began with her first seizure. Diagnosed with epilepsy and later neurofibromatosis type 1, her Children’s care team, including Dr. Brad Ingram, the EEG team and nurses on the sixth floor, have helped her manage her condition like a champ. She even handles her own medication routine, with her service dog, Clyde, right by her side.
Emma loves dancing in show choir, playing piano, swimming and thriving in her church’s kids ministry. 🌈 by @childrensofms

Kaisley
Kaisley • Age 5 • Brandon, MS
At just three days old and weighing only one pound, Kaisley became the first patient ever admitted to the new Sanderson Tower in 2020. She underwent surgery for necrotizing enterocolitis, a serious GI condition, and spent the next eight months in Children’s of Mississippi. Now diagnosed with cerebral palsy, epilepsy and blindness, Kaisley continues to defy expectations. She attends therapy 4-5 times weekly, working hard to move with adaptive equipment and enjoying real food—one of her favorite hobbies. Kaisley enjoys time in the sunshine, giggles over Dr. Seuss books and the love of her family by @childrensofms

Emmy Ott has big dreams. As a graduate acting student from the Mississippi School of the Arts in Brookhaven, Emmy knows well what it means to put on a brave face. That’s because she’s faced health challenges since she was a baby and has gone through more medical procedures than most kids do. She’s doing well now, with an inner strength and grace that shines through when you meet her. Giving kids like Emmy the best chance at making their dreams come true is why Children’s of Mississippi is here. by @childrensofms
