Happy New Year! First of all how did we get here ? I feel like I blinked and arrive in 2024 😫

So, in aid of not procrastinating and putting my hands to the plough this page is going to be a lot more active!

Those who know me, would know in 'real' life I am super bubbly, opinionated and great vibes however it doesn't quite translate well to my social media platforms.

I will be using this account going forward to showcase what I get up to as a Food entrepreneur, Food videos/recipe's, hosting conversations dear to me and my journey on this complex beauty called LIFE!

I have been able to provide a safe place to those around me and would like to extend that here - think of me as your Instagram bestie 🥰

What use is a solider if he is wounded, why have a Lover who cannot show and proof His love ?

God is interested in the intricacies of Your mind, the state of it, what comes in, how you process and go through life here on earth.

Mental health encompasses our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices.
Often times we find ourselves not quite having it all together, and areas of our mental health suffer due to the issues and complexities of life. For some of us we are currently in seasons that have lasted way to long and our spirits are crushed because of it. We don’t take the state of our minds to Him because we feel in the grand scheme of things, it is not something that matters to him - the devil is a liar ..
You were never meant to deal with Ill mental health (anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, stress) out side of God. In fact God want us to be vulnerable with Him.
His desire is to make you whole and to restore you back to His original purpose.
For some of us, our question to God is “can I be truly made whole.”
“Can I live a life where I can have it all together”?

His promises to us are His love, Power, a sound mind and; peace that passes all understanding.

The requirements as believers are to abide, learn from him and truly be surrendered - It is not until you become totally surrendered that these things can take place.

The job of the Holy Spirit is to take the lead on how we think, feel and act. He also wants to determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices.

As we reflect on mental health awareness week, I pray the lord give us the courage to fully trust him even when it doesn’t make sense. Trust that his plans are good and far better than ours.

For the those who are broken and literally going through it, I pray that the lord would impart his everlasting love on you. May he be your comforter, may you find refuge in him as he restores your mind.

God takes special care of his own.

Kind of chic… but make it gratitude 🤎

When we established Urban Fusion in 2020, we had a vision, a whole lot of faith, and a genuine love for food, culture and bringing people together.

But if you had told us then just how far this little idea would take us… honestly, I’m not sure we would have believed you.

From cooking for the Mayor (twice!), to cooking for the Duchess of Edinburgh, hosting weekly pop-ups, catering weddings and private events, creating weekly menus, guest lecturing, talking about Black food and heritage on the radio, and building a business centred around celebrating the incredible food cultures of the African diaspora — West African, Caribbean, Afro-Latin and Southern soul food — we have been blessed with some truly unforgettable moments.

And now, we have a website where you can order Urban Fusion from wherever you are. 🥹

Sometimes you have to stop, look back and realise just how much has happened.

So yes… kind of chic. 😂✨

But more than anything, we are grateful.

Grateful for every order.

Time doesn’t wait. And neither should you.

My mum always said, “If you have the time to do it, do it… because you might not have the energy later.”

The last two months have stretched me.
Building, implementing, sustaining… while still showing up for life, family, and work.

But here’s what I’ve learnt:
There is a different kind of grace that meets you when you respect your time.

Not when you procrastinate.
Not when you overthink.
But when you move.

This season has been demanding… but I’m smashing goals I once prayed about.

And for that, I’m deeply grateful to God.

Don’t waste the window you’re in.

Overnight success is a myth.
What you don’t see is the years of discipline, doubt, prayers, and persistence.

Some days I look at where I am and where I know I’m meant to be and think… how will this happen?
But I’m learning that consistency builds legacy.

Even when no one is clapping, God is working.
Even when it feels quiet, foundations are forming.
And when you think no one is watching… they are.

Still building.
Still believing.
Still becoming. 🤍

Happy New Year from UrbanFusion! 🌟

As we step into 2025, I can’t help but reflect on the incredible milestones we achieved last year. It’s been a journey of growth, resilience, and community, and I’m deeply grateful for the opportunities and support that have come our way. Here’s a snapshot of what we accomplished in 2024:

✨ Residency at Union St.
Week after week, we sold out, serving delicious meals and connecting with locals who love and support what we do.

✨ Record-breaking Christmas sales
We had the privilege of preparing festive dinners for families and individuals in Sheffield and London, making this season truly special.

✨ Spice & Condiment Range
We finalized our product range, including unique blends and sauces, which are set to launch this year—watch this space!

✨ BBC Radio Features
We were honored to be featured twice on BBC Radio—once during Black History Month and another time highlighting UrbanFusion as a thriving Black business in #Sheffield.

✨ Co-hosting on Black Culture Radio
Every last Thursday of the month, I’ve had the joy of discussing food, Black culture, heritage, and roots as a co-host on Black Culture Radio.

None of this would have been possible without YOU—our supporters, well-wishers, and loyal clients who believe in the vision and the food we serve. UrbanFusion turns 5 years old this year, and we’re more excited than ever about what’s ahead.
