Today marks my 3 months anniversary for my knee replacement surgery. I didn't get to travel this year or go out on a date ( except in my dreams when I'm asleep :), but there's a time and season for everything. I've had lots of appointments, physical therapy, bible reading, prayer, quality time with my son, and some great football games. The emotional investment of being a sports fan is huge. The Yankees 1-0 loss against the Rays loss was heartbreaking, but there's still 4 more games to play, so anything can happen. Seahawks Football is full of surprises and can put you on anxiety medication. The joke is that our cardiologists are busy in the Northwest. I hope the Yankees bounce back and Seattle gets the picks, penalties under control, and running game going. #goyankees #goseahawks💙💚 by @chiposowards

Preventative care is important, so don't neglect your check-ups, ladies. I 've had ultrasounds and yearly mammograms ever since I was thirty-five years old. I was told that the more dense you are, the harder it is to detect. Mammograms may be uncomfortable, but they are a free service. May the Lord bless us all with good health and a long life. by @chiposowards

Thank you for the wonderful birthday wishes, I'm grateful for every moment that God gives me on this side of eternity. 61 is definitely the new 31. My son and I went to the Portland Timbers Soccer game vs. Atlanta United, and it was exciting! This year has been filled with all kinds of trials and obstacles, but at the same time, it's been a season of discovery. Through my knee replacement surgery, I got to understand what true love and friendship means. The people who came through for me are the ones I least expected. God also got me through the most depressing and painful periods one could ever face. It's also been a time of letting go of what could have been in certain relationships from my younger years. I felt like I had opportunities for true love, but somehow God did not allow the few men who were dear to my heart to stay in my life for reasons that only he knows. Through it all, I've found myself and will never settle for less. This season has been one of the most challenging times of my life. We become vulnerable to the devil's devices when we're hurting. But Jesus said to take heart, we're overcomers. I battled depression one month after my knee replacement surgery. You don't function properly if you're constantly dealing with pain and can't sleep but God always makes a way and comes through for us. #christneverfails #overcomingdepression #kneereplacementsurgeryrecover

I vividly remember the tragic events of September 11th, like it was yesterday. I planned on going through World Trade Center that morning, but I overslept. A good friend called and told me to turn on the TV. I was still on the phone as we watched the second building get hit by the commercial airline. The mood in NYC was surreal, and we were all in a state of shock. My male friends from church immediately volunteered to help with digging people from the rubble, and others were giving out food. For 30 days, people went to church and New Yorkers kind and helping each other. The worst of tragedies brought the best in people. It's been 25 years, and NYC has never been the same. The city will always be my second home even though I live on the other side of the country. I've shared the story of tragedy and the courageous acts of in the aftermath with my son. To this day, we make it a point of visiting ground zero every time I go back to NYC and pray for the people who lost their loved ones. by @chiposowards
