I’m Online Now!
A work to remind me of my childhood collection of Saddle Club merchandise, of stickering objects and walls, and those little sticker earrings that were always shaped like diamonds, stars, and hearts

I used to leave my horse figurines in a little gathered circle next to a bowl of water in the morning, and then when I came home and found the water bowl empty (evaporated) I’d presume they’d drunk it all. Thirsty work. by @chiragrasby

Oil on discarded wood, 8x5cm

This little wood block was actually packing material for my dining table, pushed between joins to secure it. Bring back OTT packaging ( ? ? ? )

These people came to see User Interface at @praxisartspace … And you could too (but only until Saturday August 29th) 🌀

Thank you @aidanhughes.online for curating such a fun and chaotic exhibition with me. We missed the opportunity to get a snap together, but we put on a very cool awesome swag show and that’s all that matterz

🌀 USER INTERFACE 🌀
A co-curation from myself and @aidanhughes.online

Join us this Wednesday August 5th from 6-8PM at @praxisartspace to open this exhibition, which will hopefully leave you confused, nostalgic, melancholic, and perhaps even uncomfortable 💙

User Interface dissects the visual phenomena of digital ephemera, and queries the omnipresence of internet culture in our daily lives. It examines memes, online forums, over consumption, bodily autonomy, and the overstimulation of the digital realm.

It’s been a real pleasure to work on this show, and it’s reminding me how rewarding freelance projects are for my curatorial practice. The freedom and experimentation that comes with these opportunities is priceless, and the connections formed throughout are incredibly valuable.

Sneak peek at one of the video works I’m presenting as part of User Interface, opening Wednesday 5th at Praxis Artspace.
Rather than considering these as works presented by an exhibiting artist, think of these like my sensorial equivalent to a curatorial essay. They speak to my thoughts behind the exhibition, and the topics addressed by the contributing artists. They’ll be viewable on old model iPhones with headphones for individual experience.

This one, titled ‘Motivation’, comprises of a digitally altered version of a YouTube video from 2010 by user ‘ceeceelemon’, accompanied by snippets from Trisha Paytas’s 2013 video “Here’s Your Motivation!!!!” and JunkieKid’s “The Trance”, 2024

Snaps from Fragmentary State 🏺

Thank you to everyone that celebrated with us last month. It was such a rewarding experience to work on this exhibition, and the guidance I received from Andrew Purvis throughout the project was so valuable.

Huge congratulations to the artists on their hard work, and I commend their willingness to experiment. The outcome is an exhibition that pushes the boundaries of ceramics as a material, and reinforces the opportunities for this material in the visual arts space (outside of craft and design).

You can catch this show until July 10 at @adelaidecentralschool / @central.gallery_

Hallway Hong Bao window is now on display at @the_pod_gallery for the remainder of June ❕

Artist statement excerpt:

The red envelope, or Hong Bao, is a small packet used to gift cash during new years, weddings, and special occasions. They symbolise good luck, prosperity, and protect their receiver(s) from negative spirits. This installation transforms the confines of POD Gallery into an immersive pocket of these envelopes, shrouding the space in bold and garish decorative motifs. The shiny characters and symbols overwhelm the walls and surfaces, condensing a lifetime of missed receivals into a single moment of celebration. In this, the artist attempts to heal the loss of this significant cultural practice within her childhood, and create a lifetime of good luck within the small confined space.
