📚 Jodi Picoult - The Chapters Tour 📚

Yesterday afternoon, I attended another wonderful event hosted by Chorleywood Bookshop @chorleywoodbookshop with Jodi Picoult @jodipicoult to celebrate the release of her 30th novel, Hollow Bones.

I could have listened to Jodi talk all afternoon. She’s such a fascinating woman and had the entire room completely captivated.

The level of research that goes into her books is truly incredible, and hearing more about her writing process only made me appreciate her work even more.

Having recently read Hollow Bones, I can honestly say it’s a very special book. It’s one of those rare reads that stays with you long after you’ve turned the final page.

I have a habit of becoming completely obsessed with my latest favourite book and enthusiastically recommending it to anyone who will listen… and Hollow Bones is definitely that book for the foreseeable future! 😂

It was such a fun afternoon listening to Jodi talk about her books and the stories behind her writing.

Naturally, I came home and immediately downloaded another Jodi Picoult novel.

I think it’s safe to say I’m officially on a mission to work my way through her backlist! ✨

Book Spotlight 🎄📚

It’s 1st November, which means the festive season can officially begin, and of course, so can the festive reading!

I’m taking part in a readalong for The Secret Santa Setup, and I couldn’t be more excited. Thanks to @instabooktours & @harper360uk

This unique countdown to Christmas read features 25 sealed chapters, with one to open each day as Christmas approaches 🎁

Packed with some of my favourite tropes, including enemies to lovers, forced proximity, and a slow burn romance, it sounds like the perfect festive read.

Sixteen year old Amanda Mathers has big plans for December, working at the Matcha Do About Coffee pop up at the Post Christmas Tree Farm, convincing her parents to let her travel abroad in the summer, and organising the perfect Secret Santa with her friends.

What she doesn’t plan for is Luke Post. He might look good carrying Christmas trees, but he’s definitely giving Amanda the cold shoulder.

When she draws his name for Secret Santa, she’s completely stumped on what to get him. As the two spend more time together, though, getting to know one another might turn out to be the greatest gift of all.

I’ve read Chapter 1 this morning and I’m already intrigued. And can we take a moment to appreciate the stunning illustrations throughout the book?

They’re absolutely beautiful and add such a magical festive touch. 🎄💕

Current Reads 📚

My reading plans for the next few days are looking pretty good!

I’m currently reading Hollow Bones ahead of meeting the incredible Jodi Picoult at a book event on Sunday for her latest book release, which I’m very excited about.

I’ll also be diving into The Lighthouse Witches.

It’s not a book I would usually gravitate towards, but it’s our Book & Pudding Club pick and I’ve heard so many great things about it.

What book are you currently lost in? 📚✨

Books & Coffee Corfu 🇬🇷📚

Last week while we were on holiday, we wandered into Corfu Old Town and it was every bit as beautiful as I imagined. With its winding cobbled streets it felt like stepping into a postcard.

We spent the day meandering through the lanes and eventually stopping with a glass of wine to watch the world drift by.

And then, the best kind of travel magic, we stumbled across a hidden gem.

Books & Coffee, @plous_bookscoffee a gorgeous little bookshop tucked away from the bustle. It felt instantly special, the kind of place you could lose an hour without even trying.

If only it wasn’t a whole plane ride away… I’d be there every weekend 📚✨

The Witch — Freida McFadden 🧙‍♀️

A slightly unusual choice for a holiday read, but I couldn’t resist diving into Freida’s newest release. I’m not usually drawn to witchy or supernatural themes, so I went in cautiously and I’m so glad I gave this one a chance.

This is a chilling, atmospheric gothic mystery that blends the tension of historical witch trials with a gripping modern day narrative. McFadden’s dual timeline structure is so cleverly done, weaving Julia’s unsettling return to her family’s haunted Massachusetts estate with Caroline’s harrowing 1692 storyline.

The eerie touches, the grandfather clock stopping at 3:41am, whispered voices and long buried secrets all create such a wonderfully creepy vibe. It’s compulsive, clever, and the perfect blend of spooky and addictive for an October read 📚

Happy Saturday 📚

I am beyond thrilled with my airport floppy book find.

Jodi Picoult’s upcoming release Hollow Bones. It doesn’t hit UK shelves until 5th November, so even though I’ve already got a hardback on order… of course I had to grab this the second I saw it.

We’re flying to Greece today for a week of sunshine, cocktails, family time and hopefully endless reading.

Starting this one immediately 📚

A Quiet Life - Ethan Joella

My third and final book tour of the week!

Thanks to @novel.tours & @muswellpress

This is a tender, quietly powerful novel that lingers long after you close the final page.

Joella has a gift for writing everyday people with such emotional honesty that their grief, hope and small acts of kindness feel deeply real.

This story moves gently, but meaningfully, through themes of loss and healing.

Joella’s writing is soft and reflective, capturing those subtle moments that shape a life without ever tipping into melodrama.

The pacing is intentionally slow, which won’t be for everyone.

A warm, thoughtful read, understated yet full of feeling 🤍✨

The Sugar and Spice Bookshop Bakery — Jennifer Page

Today’s my stop on the tour for this gorgeous autumnal read, think Virgin River meets Gilmore Girls. Thanks to @novel.tours @jenniferpagewrites & @headofzeus

Louise, once a romance fiction editor, finds herself back in her childhood village of Applethwaite after walking away from her job.

What she doesn’t expect is to be swept straight into the comforting chaos of her family’s beloved bakery, famous for its ginger cake, scones, and small town charm.

Between renovations, a surprise visit from her wonderfully quirky ex stepdaughter, and the arrival of a charming Italian who might just be her second chance at love, Louise’s fresh start becomes the sweetest kind of whirlwind.

I’m now fully convinced I need to open a bookshop bakery immediately.

A perfect autumn afternoon read, blanket, sofa, pumpkin candle, and this cosy story in hand 🕯️🍂

Bad Intentions by Iliana Xander 📚

Today is my stop on the book tour for this fantastic small town thriller, and what a gripping read it turned out to be. Thanks to @novel.tours @michaeljbooks & @ilianaxander.author

This was my first book by Iliana Xander, but I’ve heard such brilliant things about her previous work that I jumped at the chance to take part. I’m so glad I did.

Raised by her grandmother Karen, Josie Boots has grown up surrounded by unanswered questions, whispers about her mother’s death, her grandmother’s incarceration, and the truth about her father.

The secrets have always been there, just out of reach.

So when a stranger reaches out with the promise of answers, Josie has to decide, does she finally open the door to the past, or are some truths better left buried?

Atmospheric, tense, and wonderfully pacey, this small town thriller pulls you in from the very first chapter and keeps you turning the pages.

I’m already excited to read more from Iliana Xander 📚✨

Current Read 📚💕

Happy Monday, somehow we blinked and the weekend disappeared again 🥺

I’ve just started Theo of Golden by Allen Levi, and it already feels like it’s going to be one of those truly special books.

If I could spend the whole day curled up under a blanket with it, I absolutely would… but work calls.

Hope your week is filled with beautiful books ✨

Book Events 📚

Last night I headed to another brilliant @chorleywoodbookshop bookshop event, and honestly, they never disappoint. That lovely buzz of readers coming together.

This time we were treated to an evening with Victoria, @vichislop and I could have listened to her speak for hours. She talked so beautifully about her inspiration, her writing process, and the time she spends living in Greece.

Her newest novel, The Wine‑Dark Sea, was a huge part of the conversation. I can’t wait for it to transport me straight to Greece.

It was such a wonderful evening. Nights like these remind me why I adore author events so much, the community, the creativity, and the magic of hearing stories come to life.

Upcoming Reads 📚

Happy Sunday! Tomorrow we come back from a long weekend at Center Parcs. With family time, and so many lovely memories.

I’ve also got some gorgeous reads lined up for the week ahead.

I’m seeing Victoria Hislop on her tour for The Wine-Dark Sea and even though I won’t have finished it beforehand, I already know hearing her speak will have me diving straight in the moment I’m home.

I’ve got two upcoming book tours with @novel.tours for A Quiet Life, which sounds like such a tender, reflective read.

Then the Sugar and Spice Bookshop Bakery honestly this sounds the most perfect autumnal book 🍁

What’s next on your reading pile? 📚✨
