A 7-inch MJ record. A lifetime of memories.

When @officialosas saw Michael Jackson’s Thriller at @thebase_studios, she shared how MJ inspired her love of entertainment — from having his poster in university to choosing this very industry.

This is why ‘The Record Show’ with @soundboyt matters. Records don’t just play music. They tell stories.

CHAPTER TWO | THE ENERGY OF AFRO NATION 🔥

Every great story starts long before the cameras roll.

For us, Day Two began around the breakfast table. A home-cooked meal. Good conversation. A chance to fuel the Choptyme Crew before stepping into one of the biggest celebrations of African music and culture in the world.

Then came the moment we’d been waiting for.

The gates opened.

The music got louder.

The crowds grew bigger.

And the energy became impossible to ignore.

But while thousands were watching the stage, we were searching for something different.

The conversations.

The reactions.

The people.

The moments between the performances that tell the real story of Afro Nation.

This chapter captures the heartbeat of the festival—not just through the artists, but through everyone who brings it to life.

🎥 Chapter Two of Afro Nation: Through Local Eyes is now live on YouTube.

She pursued the dream. Earned the degree. Became the only graduate in her class to land a job in Formula 1.

And instead of celebrating her achievement, some classmates told her she got the job because she was “ticking the diversity box”.

On the latest @timelesswithteddy, Melania Santoro @il_melo_ reflects on breaking into motorsport engineering, the sacrifices her family made to support her ambition, and the microaggressions she encountered after achieving what she had worked towards.

Let’s open this up for debate.

If a woman succeeds in a male-dominated industry, why is her competence sometimes questioned in ways that a man’s might not be?

Is this about genuine concerns over merit, unconscious bias, or a system that still struggles to accept who belongs?

Why are some people’s achievements questioned?

What happens when you challenge the system instead of accepting it?

Melania Santoro on engineering, Formula 1, workplace bias and the courage to create change. Imagine being the only female in a team full of men? 80 plus to put a number to it.
