Yesterday, I baked a zesty lemon cake with my new 8” deep cake tins (courtesy of Amazon 😊). Everything was going well until I saw towards the end, that the lemon cake looked a bit sunken. The first thought that came to mind: “I overmixed the batter 🤦🏽‍♀️🙇🏽‍♀️” I don’t know what it is, but I really mixed this batter, like I was preparing garri for Okoro soup 🤣🤣🤣. I also made some lemon buttercream which slapped and really complements the cake 😊😊😊

Nevertheless, I’m learning to keep accepting the mistakes I make and learn from them. We go again this week 😇

The inspiration behind Chosen Bakery comes from Ephesians 1:4 - “just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,” - when I heard this scripture at church, it blessed me so much and reminded me that even before I knew God, He already knew me and chose me to be part of His family, despite my flaws, inadequacies and imperfections! This even reminds me more of 1 John 3:1 🤩🤩🤩 #chosen #bakery #bakes by @chosenbakery

I still have a long way to go to improve, but I’m getting there 🔥🔥 #cupcakes #cake #celebration by @chosenbakery

A very overdue post! But last month, I treated myself to a tall cake class and it was amazing! Met lovely people and learned how to properly crumb coat a cake - sometimes Youtube can only take you so far! Very eager to keep putting my new skills into practice! Thank you to everyone at the @thecakecollege! If you’re looking to improve on your baking skills, would highly recommend! by @chosenbakery

What’s your favourite cake flavour? I would love to know, so I can work on my practice over the next few months 👩🏾‍🍳👩🏾‍🍳. Note down your favourite option in the comments, if you only have one flavour that’s in the post / not on the post, feel free to note it down as well 👩🏾‍🍳👩🏾‍🍳 (My favourite is option 2 😋) by @chosenbakery

Decided to make a white chocolate and raspberry cake 🤩🤩 It was my first time making a raspberry filling, which was quite cool but tasted a little sour but the buttercream definetly helps with the flavour! Onwards and upwards! #progress #progressnotperfection #cake #cakedecorating #baking #bakery #chocolate #learning #better #baker by @chosenbakery

Decided to make a lemon cake on the weekend! I was hoping to be a bit more fun with the flavours I’m trying out. This low-key backfired, because I couldn’t taste any lemon 😅😂! But I’m glad I’m improving just a little more on my cake decoration and photography 😊 #progressnotperfection #progress #lemoncake #lemon #cake #cake decorating #photography #photo by @chosenbakery

My very first attempt at crumb coating a 3 tier 6 inch layer cake (red velvet for those who are wondering😊). Although this may not look the greatest, I’m genuinely so proud of how far I’ve progressed. I’m so excited to keep learning and seeing how I can improve on my technique! I’m eager to keep studying the techniques of my baker inspos: @xokatierosario @dripbakery @pelumigarden @goodcakeday @bakewithrahul @ggbakes_ 🤩 #baking #2023 #progressnotperfection #cake #redvelvet #crumbcoat #buttercreamcakes #instagood #photooftheday by @chosenbakery

Another #progressnotperfection post! I’ve decided I really want to work on cupcake decoration for the next few months, so I’m really excited to keep practicing! I used vanilla buttercream and piping tip: 1M. Thank you for your advice @xokatierosario, can’t wait to learn more from you! #cake #cupcakes #cupcakesofinstagram #cupcakedecorating #cupcake #bake #baking #bakersgonnabake #progressnotperfection by @chosenbakery

So I decided to work on my decorating skills on a few cupcakes tonight and it low-key went better than I thought, I still have a lot to improve on though 😅 Some designs look pretty good and some pretty not, but I’m learning why seeking progress is better than seeking perfection! Here’s to more progress in my baking! 🤩🤩 #baking #bakingtime #cupcakes #cupcakesofinstagram #fun #improvement #notperfectionbutprogress #joy #business #bakingbusiness #hobby #bakingwithlove #bakingwithviv #profbakerinthemaking😂 by @chosenbakery

Happy Christmas Eve!!! 🌲So the long awaited carrot cake has finally arrived 🥳🥳 I did actually make a first batch but it didn’t come out the best looking, but it tasted amazing though 😋 I decided to make a carrot cake for my parents for Christmas, but I don’t know who asked me to make it at 1am this morning 😂🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️ There are some pics of the batter, cream cheese frosting and the carrot and walnuts that I chopped for the cake, (disclaimer: I didn’t add walnuts to the cake, I don’t think I can ever add nuts in cake sponge...just..yhh..no.) But stay tuned for more baking from thebakingviv in 2021 ✨✨✨ #carrotcake #cake #baking #beginnerbaker #fun #christmas #decemberbakes #bake #bakersofinstagram #vivthebaker #creamcheesefrosting #2021 #bakery #baker #thebakingviv #nonutsincakes by @chosenbakery
