This image has a few subliminal messages for me. The one that stands out the most is be grateful for the blessings you receive because you’re not promised anything tomorrow. Never take it for granted 🙏🏾👊🏾 taken in Tottenham Court Road by @chozeofficial

Lemon Jelly – Soft

There’s something special about Lemon Jelly’s music. Lost Horizons, released in 2002, is the second studio album from the British electronic duo Fred Deakin and Nick Franglen. The album blends downtempo, electronica, jazz influences, samples and beautifully crafted instrumentation to create a sound that feels completely its own. It was also nominated for the Mercury Prize in 2003.

“Soft” is such a great tune. The production is beautiful, the atmosphere is spot on, and there’s something about the way everything comes together that makes this music so special. It’s one of those tracks you can sit back, relax and appreciate, especially when you pay attention to the little details in the production.

I love music that allows you to get lost in the sound, and Lemon Jelly really deliver that here. It’s a reminder of how creative and distinctive electronic music can be when the production is given room to breathe.

Great production, great tune, and a brilliant album worth revisiting. 🎧

Have you listened to Lost Horizons by Lemon Jelly? What’s your favourite track from the album?

Garbage feat. Tricky – Milk (Live on TOTP, 22.11.96)

I know the title is probably going to confuse people, just as much as the performance itself, because there’s no actual Tricky performance in this footage, so I’m not entirely sure why it’s been titled this way! 😂

Nevertheless, I thought I’d share it because this is such an iconic track. Milk is one of those records that never loses its magic, and Shirley Manson’s vocals are incredible. I love the atmosphere of this performance, and it’s always great to come across different versions of these classic records.

I just thought the title was worth keeping as it was presented, even if it might leave a few people scratching their heads! 😂

What do you think of this track? Is Milk one of your favourite Garbage records? Let me know in the comments below. 👇🏾

Art of Noise – Moments in Love (Live Rare Version 1986)

I had to bring this one back! 🔥🎶

I found this version of Moments in Love that I’ve heard before, and what a beautiful version it is. It starts off like the original track, but towards the end, it develops into a lovely blend that takes it somewhere else entirely. Those drums caught my attention too. I think they might be using a similar breakbeat to Soul II Soul’s Back to Life, but let me know what you think! 👀🥁

What makes this even more special is that it’s a montage of different Art of Noise performances put together, capturing the band’s incredible sound and creativity. A real treat for anyone who appreciates the electronic music pioneers who helped shape the sound of the 1980s.

Art of Noise were truly ahead of their time. 🙌🏾

What’s your take on this version? Can you hear the similarities with Back to Life? Let me know in the comments! 👇🏾

Björk – Come With Me (Live in MTV Studios, New York)

I had to post this record again this morning! 🙌🏾 I think this is more of a stripped-back version, but what a great record. Björk has always had such a unique sound and a way of bringing something different to the table.

All the Björk fans will appreciate this one. Sometimes you just have to go back and revisit those records that never lose their magic.

GusGus – Polyesterday (Live at Palladium, Köln, DE, 13.05.1999)

I found this archive the other day, and what a flipping moment this was! 🔥 Honestly, this gives me goosebumps. Wish I could have been there at the time. I was in secondary school back then (LOL 😂).

What a performance, what a record, and what a band! There is something so special about looking back at these moments of music history. The nostalgia hits differently, yet somehow this still feels ahead of its time today. The sound, the atmosphere, the energy. This is exactly why we need to preserve and celebrate these incredible performances.

What a time to be alive! 🙌🏾

Was anyone here there that night? I’d love to hear your memories if you were there!

Enjoy this one, everyone. Let’s keep the sound of TripHop alive! 🖤

Lamb - All In Your Hands (Live at the Paradiso, 2004)

What a way to start the weekend! 🙌🏾🔥

What a record. What a band. I still remember the first time I heard this and thinking, WOW! 🤯 Truly incredible.

Lamb were, and still are, a world-class band. The combination of Lou Rhodes’ beautiful vocals, Andy Barlow’s production and those unmistakable atmospheric, electronic sounds is something special. This is the kind of music that stays with you long after you’ve heard it.

Watching this performance from Paradiso in Amsterdam takes me straight back. There was something so unique about the music coming out of that era, and Lamb were right up there pushing boundaries and doing things their own way.

A timeless record from an incredible band that deserves to be celebrated for generations to come.

Let’s keep the sound of TripHop alive! 🖤🎶

What’s your favourite Lamb track? Let me know in the comments.

Björk - Army of Me (Live at Festivalbar ’95) [RARE HD]

Watching Björk takes me straight back to the Friday archives, and honestly, this reminds me of just how incredible the music industry used to be. It wasn’t just about the music or the sound. It was everything surrounding it: the stage, the lighting, the atmosphere, the filming and the sheer artistry of the performance.

So nostalgic, yet somehow so far ahead of its time. There was something truly special about these moments, and watching them back makes you realise just how much of a talent and an icon Björk really is. 🙌🏾

We have to cherish these performances and preserve them for future generations, because there’s a possibility that moments like these, in all their originality and creativity, may never happen again. This is what made music history so special. 🎶

Who remembers watching performances like this back in the day?

RES – Golden Boys (Official Video)

Now this is a great record! 🔥 The vibes on this one are something else.

Released in 2001 from her debut album How I Do, RES delivered something different, blending alternative soul, hip-hop and electronic textures with an atmospheric sound that sits beautifully alongside the more experimental side of trip-hop.

There’s a real depth to this track, both musically and lyrically. It challenges the image of the untouchable golden boys we see celebrated in the media, while the production and RES’s distinctive vocals give it a sound that still feels fresh today.

Although it received some attention when it was released, I don’t think Golden Boys gets anywhere near the recognition it deserves. For me, this is one of those overlooked gems that deserves to be rediscovered. It’s not a track that has been played to death, and sometimes those are the records that deserve our attention the most.

I thought I’d share this one with the group because the vibes are undeniable. 🎶

What do you think? Is this a hidden gem, and would you put it in the trip-hop conversation? Let’s hear your thoughts!
