FROM THE ARCHIVES 📚

Back in 2021, during the pandemic, we were working on CHOZE’s album DIY.

It was a difficult period for the music industry. Live opportunities were limited and finding ways to build visibility around an independent artist and an album meant thinking differently.

As part of the DIY campaign, Simple Complex Music organised this feature and editorial shoot with @pentagonmagazine for their Summer Issue.

For us, it was an opportunity to showcase what we could do around an album beyond simply putting the music out. We wanted to build a world around the project through press, photography, fashion, visuals and artist development.

Looking back, it’s something we’re proud to have put together during such an uncertain period.

There’s a lot of work in the SCM archives that we haven’t really spoken about.

Time to start sharing it.

A lovely surprise brunch @hutongshard for our Anniversary and the food was so delicious. Would highly recommend a visit if you are looking for great food with a view 🤎

Looking over London and enjoying some time with just the two of us was so grounding and so needed 🤍

Thank you baby for such an amazing day. 5 years, a life time to go x

“Failure is when you’re trying to please everybody… Just do you, and you only.” CHOZE

Alternative Grime is a genre of music that was previously unknown to me. But far from the rough-around-the-edges rappers with flabby and hollowly aggressive rhymes, is word wizard Ricardo Marinoni.

Marinoni is the well-presented, self-assured and lyrically talented front man of CHOZE.

From South-West London, CHOZE’s music is influenced by his unforgiving and sometimes violent neighbourhood that he grew up in. The survival instinct required to not only avoid danger but also to build a respectable life despite his unforgiving environment is the thrust behind his music career…

A little moment of reflection and gratitude for my surprise birthday party which was genuinely perfect in every way. @chozeofficial went above and beyond for me and got all my favourite people in one room for my special birthday and could not be more humbled and grateful to have such a truly magical day arranged for me (and for the amazing partner and daddy that he is) 🤍

Surrounded by so much love and all just for me, thank you to my people (you know who you are), they travelled far and wide, so eternally grateful to have such amazing people in my circle 🤎

The love I felt and feel from you all is priceless, love you all endlessly x

One of my best moments throughout my teenage and adult times is to study at Lambeth College.

Not only I had great memories of the lessons I've learnt from the courses over the years, but taking on goals and big challenges that arise, including opportunities like appearing on the advert marketing campaign for Summer 2019.

Theses are the achievements that I will never forget.
