Meet me in doodle form! ✨ My little self-portrait with some of the things that make me me—from my dachshund Toffee to my love of horror movies, anime, and D&D. I have a theory that my ADHD brain, PCOS struggles and millennial vibes fuel my creative chaos. Oh, and did I mention I'm a big kid who only drinks hot chocolate? ♏️🎨📖

What do you think? These moving targets were tricky to capture but I'm in love with my scribbly sketches. Which is your favourite? Mine is the sea horses, terrapins and jelly fish. Realising now that they are the creatures who stay mostly still! I do also love my quick ray silhouettes — they are speedsters.

I feel like I could write an essay about why I love going to the aquarium: it fills me with childlike joy, awe and excitement looking at these otherworldly creatures. I also just find them fascinating as a biology graduate. As much as its exciting and awe-inspiring, it's also so calming and peaceful; the graceful movements, the low lighting, the ancient feeling, they came before and will hopefully remain long after we're gone.

A visit does also make me sad and angry: that they don't have more space, their environment is underthreat from fishing, climate change and all our waste and pollution. Especially, the octopus, they are so clever, they should have much more space and stimulation. Although this time I got to see it having a feed maybe? And getting some affectionate strokes — I want that job! And the penguins those talented swimmers zipping round a tiny pool.. I thought that was protested, they are still there..

I have so many reference photos from this trip, and ones before. I am determined to finally spend some time drawing, painting and felting them so watch this space for a sea creature collection.. by @christinacrookcreative
