Monday is my 11-year meetiversary with Christina.

I’m not gonna tell you the story of how we met yet, because that deserves its own video. It’s a ridiculous story, and I promise I’ll tell it.

But I was thinking today about the greatest gift Christina has given me over these last eleven years. And I think it’s unconditional love. Which sounds corny as all fuck!

But I don’t think I really understood what unconditional love could do to a person until somebody gave it to me.

When someone loves you completely, not the version of you that performs well, not the successful version, not the funny version, not the useful version, but just… you… You start believing them.

And then this really strange second gift emerges from the first one.

Self-love.

I think Christina loving me the way she has slowly taught me that maybe I’m worthy of being loved that way too. And I don’t know if there’s a greater gift one human being can give another.

So happy 11-year meetiversary, babe.

Thanks for loving me enough that eventually I learned how to love myself.
