@saophilly was a perfect extension of Mawn, with its own Cambodian seafood flare. I could eat nothing but their crudo’s for the rest of my life and die happy. The Honey Butter Hoe Cake lived up to the hype, and the service was fantastic. It easily exceeded my expectations and then some, and still stands as one of my favorite restaurants in the city (both Sao and Mawn). A culinary genius with nostalgic Philly flare. Truly an exceptional meal and experience. 🫶🏼✨

📍Norma’s - Cherry Hill, NJ

@normascherryhill should be next on your list of halal restaurants to try! This spot is an absolute GEM located in the heart of Cherry Hill- family owned and run. They also have a halal supermarket attached with all the essentials you need.

They source their meat, vegetables, and ingredients from the highest quality sources possible, often driving hours for what they need. Their olives are from Lebanon and the pickled lemon on the Lemon Chicken is pickled in house. Elias told us before we ate that we’d be able to taste the difference between Norma’s and any other restaurant, and he was right. Each meat had its own flavor, and their Lamb Shank & Lemon Chicken fell right off the bone. Everything from the sauces and appetizers to the desserts are made in house.

Elias also named this spot after his mother, Norma, who occasionally drops by! What started as a sandwich shop many years ago is now one of the best halal restaurants in South Jersey.

Thank you so much Christina & Elias for having us and taking good care of us. This isn’t the last time you’re gonna see us!!

- Falafel Mana’esh (not on the menu but can be made to order. I’m getting this EVERY time)

- Spanakopita (this one tasted like a mix between baklava & spanakopita. I would highly suggest!!)

- Assorted flatbreads (Za’atar, Cheese)
- Lamajun

- Lamb Shank (SO juicy & tender)

@fondbyob was such a wonderful surprise and truly feels like a hidden gem. From the beautiful seasonal menu to the thoughtfully designed atmosphere and impeccable service, every detail made for such a memorable dining experience.

Each course was beautifully presented and perfectly paced, allowing us to really savor everything we tried. We paired our meal with a bottle of French champagne, which felt especially perfect given that Fond is BYOB. 🥂

The dishes marked with an asterisk were some of our absolute favorites and are highly recommended, although truly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

I especially loved the way the menu highlighted fresh, seasonal summer ingredients while still feeling elevated and thoughtfully composed. Bring your favorite bottle of wine or champagne, settle in, and let the evening unfold — it’s the perfect BYOB experience. ✨

Every Aperitivo Social Club dinner that Claudia ( @good_friends_cocktails ) and myself have hosted has been wonderful, and special, and allllll that jazz - but our 1 year anniversary block party was on another level of special.

The drinks were top tier (still dreaming of that gin and tomato lemonade), the snacks were some of my favorite I’ve ever made (arrosticini and charcoal grilled sardines 4lyfe), and the vibes were higher than your favorite cousin after Thanksgiving dinner.

A milliondy bajilliony thanks to my insanely talented friend and guest chef, @sjchef_09 for joining us and making those killer long hot marinated ribs with radicchio slaw 🤤 and also to @christinalbitar - the most overqualified sous to ever join me. A day was had!

Maguro Kaitai Sho at Javelin! ✨

There’s something so special about experiencing food when you get to see the craftsmanship, tradition, and passion behind it, and Javelin’s first-ever Maguro Kaitai Sho was exactly that. 🐟✨

I had the best time watching Albert, Carlos & Richie expertly break down a whole tuna right in front of us while we celebrated an incredible night of Cambodian flavors, cocktails, sake, and community. Getting to sample the tuna moments after it was cut was such a unique experience; the freshness was unreal, and it made the entire evening feel so immersive and special.

The food was definitely a highlight for me. I absolutely loved the Cambodian-inspired flavors, especially the Hokkaido scallops and crudos, which brought so much freshness and depth to the night. And of course, we can’t forget the cocktails! The Southeast Margarita and Pandan Sour were easily my favorites. 🍸

And honestly, one of my favorite parts of the night was the people. There’s something so fun about being surrounded by so many industry and content friends, meeting new people, reconnecting with familiar faces, and getting to enjoy an experience like this together. Between the conversations, laughs, sake shots all night long, and incredible food, it truly felt like one big celebration. 🥂❤️

While Tuna Cutting celebration events are typically held at Ogawa, this was the first-ever tuna cutting at Javelin, and I’m so glad I got to be there for it. It was such a fun way to experience the artistry and tradition behind tuna preparation while also celebrating Cambodian flavors in such a creative way.

If you ever see a tuna cutting event pop up, do yourself a favor and snag those tickets immediately. It’s not just dinner, it’s an experience, a celebration, and such a fun way to spend an evening with friends, family, and people who love food just as much as you do.

The Monkey French Toast at Sam’s Morning Glory Diner @sams_morningglorydiner is a decadent brunch dish made with thick challah bread stuffed with caramelized bananas and mangoes, finished with caramel sauce & house-made whipped cream. 🍌🥭 Definitely the best French toast I’ve had in Philly!

Today I visited @saddlehillwinery located in Vorhees, NJ! ✨
We rented the pergola outside, and had an incredible meal with (multiple) flights of wine. Everything is farm to table, and incredibly fresh & delicious. Their wines are incredible as well, with many notable awards. I still can’t believe this is in our backyard in New Jersey! It was a perfect day dining by the vineyards and exploring their beautiful property. The service was truly exceptional, and we had the best time. If you’re looking for a fun day out, I highly recommend visiting @saddlehillwinery! 🍇🍷✨
