Educational Quadruplet!

Enough To Share by @maryhelenberg is a needed, honest, environmental activism, and fact-filled story! This book beautifully showcases the challenges, threats, and changes nature faces when we strip it of resources. It also highlights what natural cycles would look like and the many benefits that are lost by interrupting them. Although Spirit Bear, Sea Wolf, and the Great Bear Rainforest are the focal point, this message can be widely applied.

America's Founding Myths by @christymihaly @martasevilla is a vibrant, fascinating, engrossing, and educational book! I love the format of this book; it is highly engaging. 15 historical myths are addressed. I honestly learned a ton as an adult and love the question/critical thinking prompts in this book.

The Future Of Science Begins Here; How To Build A Human & Secrets Beneath The Waves are mind-blowing, humerous, and factual reads! I love the comic book style and many illustrations which bring humor and lightheartedness to learning. These books answer many questions about their chosen topic in a highly engaging manner.

Teaching Artist Christy Mihaly (@christymihaly) of East Calais, VT was recently added to the Council's Youth Development and Creative Aging Teaching Artist Rosters. These rosters help Vermont organizations and schools get connected with skilled and experienced teaching artists. Christy is an award-winning children's author, poet, and teaching artist who has published more than forty books on topics ranging from hayfields to free speech to food.

It's World Water Day 2026. The UN declares the observance of such international days to highlight the most critical global issues.
This year's Water Day theme is equality -- because we know that clean, accessible water means more girls in school and better lives for women.
In my book Barefoot Books WATER: A Deep Dive of Discovery, I tell the story of Georgie Badiel and her work to bring clean water to villages in West Africa. When visiting schools to talk about this book, I ask kids to try their hand at carrying heavy jugs of water, as girls do every day around the world. This always leads to meaningful conversations about equality and resources and what we can do.
Today and everyday, let's celebrate the blessings (and necessity) of clean water, and work to preserve and share this precious resource. 🌏 💧
