I feel like I’ve grown a hundred years in the span of a few months.
.
After getting back onto Canadian soil after my farthest and longest trip I’ve ever taken it really shattered what I thought was my comfort zone. It kind of showed me that I really had to push harder to just go and do the things I talk more about doing rather than stepping forward and pursuing it.
.
Creatively, I’ve told myself for far too long now that I’m not talented enough to do something; dreams I chased as a teen that I learned were harmful for me and my wellbeing, long before I unmasked and when my health started to deteriorate, feels cathartic to turn back to now. As a grown person who gets to truly exercise free will in the way that humans were granted, within the limits of safety and ALWAYS with wellbeing and “the bigger picture” in mind - but not stiflingly so.

When I say to keep the big picture in mind, it’s not with what I think I “should” be doing; it’s where I want to be down the line. Do I want to be someone who charges into unfamiliar circumstances? No, actually - but do I want to try the thing I’ve always wanted to try? …yes. SO. That means I HAVE to, or at least I have to start now.

Day 29 is a really heartwarming topic to talk about. There have been so many amazingly kind and supportive people I’ve gotten to meet along the way, I’m blessed to have good things to report.

Some of what I know now about my condition(s) is thanks to the support and the advice I’ve gotten. I am who I am today because of the love that’s been poured into me and the people who have helped me get here. (Alhamdullillah.)

Be kind to yourselves and your bodies, guys. Your body is an amānah (a trust, a responsibility), and it has the right to be taken care of and nurtured when it needs to. Don’t do as I did and don’t wait until you’re burnt out before taking care of yourself.
